Abstract A method for the preparation and purification of aflatoxin Q1-hemisuccinate is described. The overall yield after final purification was about 80-85% of the starting aflatoxin Q1. The new aflatoxin derivative was characterized by thin layer chromatographic, high performance liquid chromatographic, ultraviolet, mass spectroscopic, and nuclear magnetic resonance spectral analyses.
