Anisomeridium calcicolum Upreti & Nayaka (Monoblastiaceae) from India is described as new to science. Lithothelium hyalosporum (Nyl.) Aptroot, and Polymeridium albocinereum (Krempelh.) R. C. Harris are reported as new records for the Indian lichen flora.

Twenty five species are added to the lichen flora of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. Arthonia aciniformis Stirt., A. nigratula (Müll. Arg.) R. Sant., Coenogonium disciforme Papong et al., Echinoplaca diffluens (Müll. Arg.) R. Sant., Fellhanera pilomarginata Lücking, Physcia fragilescens Zahlbr., Porina subnitidula Colín & B. Peña, Pseudopyrenula subnudata Müll. Arg., Sporopodium subflavescens Lücking & Lumbsch, Syncesia albiseda (Nyl.) Tehler, Tricharia santessoniana Kalb & V?zda and Trichothelium sipmanii Lücking are reported as new records for India. Graphis xanthospora Müll. Arg. is excluded.

Twelve species are recorded as additions to the lichen flora of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. Bulbothrix ventricosa (Hale & Kurokawa) Hale, Chiodecton malmei G. Thor and Relicina relicinula (Müll. Arg.) Hale are reported as new records for India. Bulbothrix, Dichosporidium, Enterographa, Heterodermia and Lecanographa are generic additions to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

AbstractTwenty-five mainly crustose and saxicolous lichens are reported from the subalpine and alpine belts of Mt Changbai (n.-e. China, near the Korean border). All are new records to the lichen flora of the north-eastern provinces of China, 12 of them to the flora of all China, and four to the flora of all Asia. There is some floristic similarity to some other areas with cool humid climates in the Northern Hemisphere, e.g. Iceland.

As a result of determining the lichens collected in summer 2020 in the territory of the Kologriv Forest State Nature Reserve (Kostroma Region), 57 species (44 lichens, 5 non-lichenized and 8 lichenicolous fungi) new to the lichen flora of the Reserve were identified. Among them, 49 species and 17 genera (Acrocordia, Allocalicium, Acarospora, Biatoridium, Catinaria, Cryptodiscus, Didymocyrtis, Fellhanera, Inoderma, Intralichen, Lichenoconium, Melaspileella, Rebentischia, Schismatomma, Sclerococcum, Thelidium, and Tremella) are new for the Kostroma Region. Micarea melanobola is new for Russia. The genus Rebentischia with species R. massalongii as well as Ramalina vogulica are published for the first time for the European Russia. Five species: Allocalicium adaequatum, Bryoria glabra, Japewia subaurifera, Sclerococcum simplex, and Tremella hypogymniae – are reported as new records for the Middle Russia. Information on habitats, substrates and distribution in the neighboring regions is provided.

An inventory of foliicolous lichens in Mexican lowland and montane rainforest revealed a total of 288 species, 238 of which are new records for the country, raising the number of reported lichen species to c. 1800. Among the new records, there are 29 recently described species and four new records for the Neotropics and the Americas, while five taxa are for the first time reported for Central America. The 293 species now known from Mexico comprise nearly two-thirds pantropical to cosmopolitan or intercontinentally distributed taxa, whereas little more than one-third are Neotropical or American, and only 6% are potentially endemic to the country. A comparison with other lowland and montane rainforest sites in Guatemala, Costa Rica and Ecuador shows that on average lowland sites have twice as many species as montane sites. Also, the differentiation in species composition between lowland and montane sites within the same region is more pronounced (63–75% similarity) than that between adjacent regions (96–99% similarity for lowland sites and 83–87% similarity for montane sites). This means that altitudinal preferences affect species composition more strongly than geographical differentiation. The latter is a function of distance, however, while Mexican and Guatemalan lowland (montane) sites share 96% (83%) of the species, these values drop to 74% (72%) when comparing Mexico with Ecuador. Nevertheless, overall floristic similarity is very high, with the lowest value of 54% shared species found between Mexican lowland and Costa Rican montane forest.
