Abstract The first derivatives of the hitherto unknown 2-thioxo malonic acid ester could be achieved. In dependence of conditions and presence of an enophile (3) substituted dihydro thiopyrans (5) as 4 + 2 addition products of hypothetic 2-thioxo malonic acid esters with 3 or α-oxo-methylene bisxanthates 7 resp. are formed in reactions of dibromo malonic acid esters 1 with potassium O-ethylxanthate (2).
