ABSTRACT An aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is a benign osteolytic bony lesion that commonly affects the long bones with rare presentation in the jaws. The etiopathogenesis of ABC is unsure. Several theories have been suggested like trauma, intramedullary hematoma, alterations in local hemodynamics, reactive malformation, and genetic predisposition. Though ABCs are considered as secondary phenomenon in preexisting benign and malignant bony lesions, intermittent reports of ABCs with primary/denovo origin are generating perplexity in the scenario. Here, we describe a rare case of giant ABC involving mandible extending from right angle of mandible to left canine region which crosses midline, in a 10-year-old female patient, without any evidence of preexisting bony lesion. Aneurysmal bone cyst is a non-neoplastic, locally aggressive lesion usually involving metaphyseal regions of long tubular bones. It rarely involves talus. We report a case of a 21 years old female patient with primary aneurysmal bone cyst of talus which was managed at our hospital.

Aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) is an expansile cystic lesion which may affect any bone of the skeleton. Although extremely rare, lesions with histomorphological characteristics of an ABC occur in the soft tissue. Herein, we report the first case of ABC involving the supraspinatus muscle and mimicking common pathologies, such as myofascial pain syndrome or subacromial impingement syndrome.

Extracardiac manifestations of constrictive pericarditis, such as massive ascites and liver cirrhosis, often cover the true situation and lead to a delayed diagnosis. A young female patient was referred to this hospital due to a 4-year history of refractory ascites as the only presenting symptom. A diagnosis of chronic calcified constrictive pericarditis was eventually established based on echocardiography, ultrasonography, and computed tomography. Cardiac catheterization was not performed. Pericardiectomy led to relief of her ascites. Refractory ascites warrants thorough investigation for constrictive pericarditis.
