Single-crystal structure determinations are recorded for [Ph3AsMe]+ [Ag3I3X]-, X= Cl , Br, I. The three complexes are isomorphous with their recently recorded [Cu3I4]- counterpart. They are also 'isomorphous' with the recently recorded [Ph4P/As]+ [Ag3I4]-, crystallizing in a monoclinic P21/c cell with a ≈ 12.5 , b ≈ 25.6, c ≈ 8.39Ǻ, β ≈ 109°, Z=4 formula units. The anion is an infinite polymer with three distinct metal and four distinct halide sites; the mixed stoichiometry is achieved by displacement of the peripheral halide species.

The room-temperature single-crystal X-ray structural characterization of the title compound (tpyH2)2[Tb(OH2)8]Cl7.~2⅓H2O is recorded. Crystals are triclinic, Pī , a 17.063(5), b 16.243(3), c 7.878(3) Ǻ, α 84.78(2), β 84.39(3), γ 87.81(2)°, Z = 2 formula units; 3167 'observed' diffractometer reflections were refined by full-matrix least-squares procedures to a residual of 0.057. Notable features of interest of the compound are the 'chelation' of chloride ions by the terpyridinium cations , and the existence of a free [Tb(OH2)8]2+ cation in the presence of an abundance of chloride ions.

Although only sparingly soluble in acetonitrile, lithium(1) bromide and iodide crystallize as acetonitrile adducts, structurally characterized as LiX/MeCN 1 : 2 and 1 : 4 respectively by single-crystal structure determinations. The bromide is a ,′-dibromo-bridged dimer , ( MeCN )2LiBr2Li( NCMe )2)] (monoclinic, P21/n, a 7.624(2), b 12.61 2(2), c 8.047(3) , β 98.94(3)°p; Z 2 dimers; R 0.038 for No 1081 'observed' reflections); Li-Br, N 2.534(7), 2.492(8); 2.031(9), 2.047(8) respectively, with Li…Li, 3.17(1); Br…Br, 3.8989(9) respectively. The iodide is ionic, [Li( NCMe )4]+1- (orthorhombic, P21221, a 20.66(1), b 12.208(6), c 8.4296) , Z 6; R 0.062 for No 866).
