In the title compound, [Ni(C14H8N2O5)(H2O)2]n, the NiIIcation is six-coordinate with a slightly distorted octahedral coordination geometry and the 4-(isonicotinamido)phthalate ligand links the NiIIcentres into a three-dimensional structure withsratopology. The structure is also stabilized by N—H...O hydrogen bonding between the uncoordinated amide groups of the ligand and extensive O—H...O hydrogen bonding between the two coordinated water molecules. The magnetic and thermal stability properties of the title compound are also discussed.

In the title compound, [Zn(C8H5N5O3)(C12H8N2)(H2O)]·3H2O, a tridentate 2-amino-7-methyl-4-oxidopteridine-6-carboxylate ligand, a bidentate ancillary 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand and a water molecule complete a distorted octahedral coordination geometry around the ZnIIatom. The pterin ligand forms two chelate rings. The phen and pterin ring systems are nearly perpendicular [dihedral angle = 85.16 (5)°]. Classical N—H...O, O—H...N and O—H...O hydrogen bonds and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds link the complex molecules and lattice water molecules into a three-dimensional network. π–π stacking contacts are observed as well, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.5679 (14), 3.7004 (14), 3.6641 (15), 3.6974 (13) and 3.3412 (12) Å.

In the cation of the title compound, [Ru(C15H10ClN3)2]Cl2·2H2O, the metal atom exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination geometry provided by the N atoms of two tridentate terpyridine ligands. The ligands are approximately planar [maximum deviation = 0.156 (5) Å] and form a dihedral angle of 87.0 (3)°. In the crystal, the cations, anions and water molecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by C—H...Cl, C—H...O and O—H...Cl hydrogen bonds.

In the polymeric title compound, [Co(C2O4)(C14H14N4O2)]n, the CoIIatom is six-coordinated by two N atoms from symmetry-related bis[(pyridin-4-yl)methyl]oxalamide (BPMO) ligands and four O atoms from two centrosymmetric oxalate anions in a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The CoIIatoms are linked by the oxalate anions into a chain running parallel to [100]. The chains are linked by the BPMO ligands into a three-dimensional architecture. In addition, N—H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

The CoIIions are connectedviathe tetrachloroterephthalate dianions into a chain running along the crystallographic [110] direction. Adjacent chains are linked into a two-dimensional network arranged parallel to (010) by classical N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds.

In the monomeric title complex, [Cd(C2O4)(CH3N5)2(H2O)2], the CdIIion exhibits a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, with the equatorial plane defined by two O atoms from an oxalate ligand and two N atoms from two 5-amino-1H-tetrazole ligands; the axial sites are occupied by two water molecules, with longer Cd—O bond lengths. An intramolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, N—H...O as well as O—H...O and O—H...N hydrogen bonds (some of which are bifurcated) link the complex molecules into a three-dimensional network.

The title compound, [Co(C6H6NO3S)2(H2O)2] n , was obtained from a mixture of Co(NO3)2·6H2O and a previously synthesized salt, namely CyNH3·NH2PhSO3, in a 1:1 ratio (Cy = cyclohexyl; Ph = phenyl). The crystal structure consists of a three-dimensional supramolecular framework, in which polymeric layers are interconnected via N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonding. The polymeric layers are formed by an interconnection of neighbouring cobalt(II) cations via NH2PhSO3 − bridges. Each cobalt(II) cation is surrounded by four NH2PhSO3 − moieties and two water molecules, leading to a distorted octahedral environment.

The dinuclear FeIII complex in the title compound, [Fe2Cl2O(C18H18N4)2](PF6)2, lies on a center of inversion. The FeIII atom is chelated by a tetradentate tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine ligand via four N atoms and further coordinated by one chloride ion and one bridging oxide O atom, giving a distorted octahedral coordination geometry.

The title compound, [CuNa(C4H3O7S)(C10H8N2)(H2O)3]n, consists of one CuIIcation, one NaIcation, one 2-sulfonatobutanedioate trianion (SSC3−), one 2,2′-bipyridyl (bpy) ligand and three coordinated water molecules as the building unit. The coordination of the CuIIcation is composed of two pyridyl N atoms, one water O atom and two carboxylate O atoms in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry with an axial elongation. The NaIcation is six-coordinated by three water molecules and three carboxylate O atoms from three SSC3−ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. Two SSC3−ligands link two CuIIcations to form a Cu2(SSC)2(bpy)2macrocyclic unit lying across an inversion centre, which is further linked by NaIcationsviaNa—O bonds to give a one-dimensional chain. Interchain hydrogen bonds link these chains to form a two-dimensional layer, which is further extended into a three-dimensional supramolecular framework through π–π stacking interactions. The thermal stability of the title compound has also been investigated.

In the title complex, [Ni(C12H9N2O3S)2(H2O)2]·4H2O, the NiII ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two bidentate chelating 4-[(pyridin-2-yl)methylideneamino]benzenesulfonate ligands and two O atoms from cis-related water molecules in a slightly distorted octahedral environment [Ni—N = 2.071 (3)–2.121 (3) Å and Ni—O = 2.071 (2) and 2.073 (3) Å]. In the crystal, the coordinated water molecules and the four water molecules of solvation are involved in intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions with water and sulfonate O-atom acceptors, giving a three-dimensional framework structure.
