In this paper, three tank level control experimental system as the research object, the establishment of the level system model, and according to the experimental requirements: upper, middle tank to stabilize the value of the lower tank eventually reaches a given value, forming a typical third-order object of study.

In process control, most of the control variables are position quantity which needs to be smooth, such as the opening of valve. In order to get smooth control, a smooth full-order sliding mode controller is proposed. Since the switching term in the proposed method is put into the second derivative of control u, the control u is smooth and its derivative is continuous. The proposed method is tested in drum water level control of the ship boiler, and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract In this work, diabetic glucose concentration level control under disturbing meal has been controlled using two set of advanced controllers. The first set is sliding mode controllers (classical and integral) and the second set is represented by optimal LQR controllers (classical and Min-, ax). Due to their characteristic features of disturbance rejection, both integral sliding mode controller and LQR Minmax controller are dedicated here for comparison. The Bergman minimal mathematical model was used to represent the dynamic behavior of a diabetic patient’s blood glucose concentration to the insulin injection. Simulations based on Matlab/Simulink, were performed to verify the performance of each controller. In spite that Min-max optimal controller gave better disturbance rejection capability than classical optimal controller, classical sliding mode controller could outperform Min-max controller. However, it has been shown that integral sliding mode controller is the best of all in terms of disturbance rejection capability.   Key words: Optimal LQR control, Optimalminimax control, Sliding mode control, Integral sliding mode control.

Abstract The oxygenate water level is an important adjustment parameter in the operation of the fire generator set, and the water level may result in the safety of the water pump. The high water level will not only affect the oxygen effect, but it is also possible to cause the water shot to the steam turbine to cause a water shot or give the water tank full water, oxygenate vibration, drain and vapor with water. When the load is low (generally 35% rated load), the oxygenate water level is controlled by large and small valve, condensate pump variable frequency control condensed water drum pressure. When the unit load is high (greater than 35 rated load), the oxygenate water level is controlled by the condensed water pump, the large valve and small valve controls condensed water drum pressure.

Feed water tank merupakan salah satu komponen pada boiler yang memiliki fungsi penting dalam menyuplai air ke boiler. Level air pada feed water tank harus tetap dijaga agar tidak terjadi kekosongan saat proses pengisian air ke boiler. Selama ini operator masih memantau secara langsung level air pada feed water tank. Sehingga diperlukan sistem otomasi water level control yang dapat membantu operator dalam mengontrol dan memantau level air pada feed water tank. Sistem otomasi water level control dikendalikan oleh PLC Omron Sysmac C200H dengan menggunakan panel push button yang terpasang pada plant atau juga dapat dikendalikan dan dimonitor melalui melalui PC menggunakan software SCADA Wonderware InTouch 10.5. Selain itu sistem otomasi menggunakan SCADA ini dilengkapi password sebagai pengaman dari orang yang tidak bertanggung jawab. Kata kunci : PLC, SCADA, water level control, feed water tank Feed water tank is one component of the boiler system which has an important function in supplying water to the boiler. Water levels in feed water tank is must be maintaned to avoid emptiness at filling process to the boiler. Previously, the operator directly to monitors water level in the feed water tank. Therefore, a control mechanisem is required to help the operators to control and monitor the water level in the feed water tank autonomously. In this system, water level is controlled by PLC Omron C200H Sysmac using the push button panel attached to the plant or also can be controlled and monitored by PC using Wonderware InTouch 10.5. In addition, SCADA system is equipped with a password to secure from irresponsible people.Key word : PLC, SCADA, water level control, feed water tank
