The networked collaborative design has been the development trend of modern product design, the application of which has been constrained by the data access conflicts. This paper introduced the networked collaborative design method of product based on the Vault, and network collaborative function of Inventor by using the project management. Under the assistance of the Vault, we had solved the key technology of access conflict of networked collaborative design, and realized the remote design between the members of efficient coordination. In this way, we had optimized the design ideas, shortened the product development cycles and improved productivity.

High speed milling cutter is a representative cutter for high efficiency cutting, there is the indeterminacy induced by small sample and lacking information in evaluating its performance. By the analysis of cutter characteristics, acquires the data of structure, material and cutting parameter affecting the performance of cutter, and constructs structural levels model of performance behavior in designing cutter. Using the theory of axiomatic design, investigates mapping approach among structural domain, material domain and functional domain, and propounds collaborative design method of multilevel high speed milling cutter. Results of performance analysis and high speed milling experiment show that the model indicates the interaction among structural levels of cutter, and the design method makes the performance of cutter satisfy the requirements of safety, stability and high efficiency cutting.

This article presents a new multi-disciplinary parameter design method. In the proposed method, the multi-disciplinary design process includes constraints modelling, parameter coordination, and parameter optimization. First, the multi-disciplinary constraints model for robust coordination is studied. Second, an approach of multi-disciplinary robust coordination for algebraic and differential constraints is presented to support multi-disciplinary collaborative design. A general algorithm is designed to predict conflict and refine the consistent intervals for parameter coordination. Finally, a multi-disciplinary optimization method is presented. The proposed method is applied to parameter design of bogies, considering design constraints from different disciplines, such as mechanics, cybernetics, dynamics, and so on.
