Summary:— A great deal of publicity has been given in recent years to the problems caused by microbiological attack on aviation fuels, although there had been considerable experience of the subject before the first serious problems arose in aviation. Intensive studies of the nature of the attack have shown that although limited use of biocides has been successful, the best control is by the elimination of stagnant water from the fuel supply system and the aircraft fuel system.
