Thirteen species of phytoseiid mites of the subfamilies Typhlodrominae and Phytoseiinae are reported for the first time from Spain. Typhlodromus (Typhlodromus) baeticus sp. nov. is described and four species poorly known morphologically, Paraseiulus soleiger (Ribaga), Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) ilicis Athias-Henriot, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) recki Wainstein and Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) sapiens Athias-Henriot are re-described based on new materials collected in Spain. Finally, the unknown male of Typhloseiulus eleonorae Ragusa & Swirski is described and additional morphological information is provided for other seven species.

A taxonomic account and an annotated checklist of the Finnish Mymaridae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) are given, comprising 85 named species in 19 genera. Among them 2 genera, Dicopus Enock, 1909 and Stethynium Enock, 1909, 1 subgenus, Anagrus (Paranagrus Perkins, 1905), and the following 25 species represent new records for Finland: Anagrus (Anagrus) avalae Soyka, 1956, A. (Anagrus) bakkendorfi Soyka, 1946, A. (Anagrus) ensifer Debauche, 1948, A. (Anagrus) nigriceps (Smits van Burgst, 1914), A. (Anagrus) obscurus Förster, 1861, A. (Anagrus) parvus Soyka, 1956, A. (Anagrus) subfuscus Foerster, 1847, A. New distributional records and taxonomic notes on some genera and species are also provided. Caraphractus Walker, 1846, syn. nov. is synonymized with Eustochus Haliday, 1833 and treated as its subgenus, E. (Caraphractus), stat. revid., and its type species Caraphractus cinctus Walker, 1846 is transferred to Eustochus as Eustochus (Caraphractus) cinctus (Walker, 1846), comb. nov. Eustochus (Eustochus) koponeni Triapitsyn, sp. nov. is described from Finland and Germany. Lymaenon gracilentus (Hellén, 1974), stat. restit. is resurrected as a valid species from the previous synonymy with Lymaenon aureus and redescribed. The previously unknown male of Alaptus schmitzi Soyka, 1939 is described. Polynema depressicollis Hellén, 1974, syn. nov., is synonymized with Polynema (Doriclytus) vitripenne. Anagrus (Paranagrus) optabilis is newly recorded from the Canary Islands and Madeira, and Cleruchus megatrichus is for the first time reported from France.

A New Species

A new species of amphipod, Bathyporeia watkini sp. nov. from the Atlantic coasts of North Africa is described. This very characteristic species is abundant in some lagoons and estuaries near 28°N. New morphological information on B. elkaimi d’Udekem d’Acoz and Menioui, 2004 is given after specimens that were recently collected on the Atlantic coasts of southern Spain and South Portugal. The male of B. ledoyeri d’Udekem d’Acoz and Menioui, 2004 is described for the first time and new records of North African B. guilliamsoniana (Bate, 1857) and B. chevreuxi d'Udekem d'Acoz and Vader, 2005a are discussed.

A New Species

A new species and eight new subspecies of Papilionoidea discovered in Vietnam between 2002 and 2020 are described and illustrated. The status of two taxa are revised. New taxa include Pieridae: Delias sanaca bidoupa Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. and Talbotia naganum aurelia Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov.; Nymphalidae: Abrota ganga pulcheria Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Bassarona recta consonensis Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Pantoporia bieti aurantina Monastyrskii & To subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata cristata Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata crystallina Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Faunis indistincta luctus Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. & Aemona gialaica Monastyrskii, K. Saito & Vu, spec. nov. The taxon infuscata Devyatkin & Monastyrskii, previously described as the subspecies Aemona tonkinensis infuscata, was elevated to the species level, while the taxon critias (Ragadia critias Riley & Godfrey) was reduced to a subspecies. Three Satyrinae species were recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Palaeonympha opalina Butler, 1871; Ypthima motschulskyi Bremer & Grey, 1853; and Ragadia latifasciata Leech, 1891.

The phytoseiid mites of the Cape Verde archipelago are scarcely known. We report the results of a survey conducted on the islands of Santiago and Santo Antão, where phytoseiids were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Fourteen species were collected, four of which represent new records for the islands. One new species, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) macrodactylus Ferragut sp. nov., is described and illustrated. We describe the unknown male of Amblyseius neolargoensis van der Merwe, provide a redescription of the male of Euseius fustis (Pritchard & Baker) and additional morphological information for all examined species.

Tipula (Lunatipula) milkoi sp. n. is described from Kyrgyzstan. The new species belongs to the Tipula zarnigor group and is closely related to T. (L.) zarnigor Savchenko and T. (L.) lehriana Savchenko. Two tipulid species, Nephrotoma lundbecki lundbecki (Nielsen) and Tipula (Yamatotipula) pierrei Tonnoir, are recorded from Kyrgyzstan for the first time.

The E. ovina group of species is proposed here to include Edessa ovina Dallas, 1851 from Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina (new records) and Guyana; E. impura Bergroth, 1891 from Brazil and Argentina (new record); E. sahlbergii Stål, 1872 restricted to Brazil; and E. graziae sp. nov. from Brazil and Argentina. The E. ovina group can be identified by the apex of the second pair of wings narrowing distally and by a tumid area on the ventral surface of the pygophore (male genitalia) projected posteriorly. Descriptions, measurements, and illustrations of the metasternal process, external and internal genitalia of male and female are provided. A map with the distribution of the species is presented. The holotype of Edessa ovina is designated here. Edessa argali Breddin, 1903 is considered a junior synonym of E. impura. Females of E. ovina and E. impura, and male of E. sahlbergii are described for the first time.

A New Species

Phytoseiid mites have been intensively surveyed in Taiwan during the past decades because of their potential as biological control agent. Despite the fact, many regions of Taiwan remain under-explored especially in mountain areas and neighboring islands. Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) crossostephium sp. nov. was collected from Crossostephium chinense (L.) Makino (Asteraceae) on rocky shore habitat during a survey on Lanyu Island. In this paper, presence of a phytoseiid mite on rocky shores is reported for the first time. A detailed morphological description of the new species and a key to the Taiwanese species of subgenus Anthoseius are provided.

A New Species

The present study focuses on shrimps belonging to the genus Lysmata Risso, 1816, collected from Madagascar during the Atimo Vatae expedition carried out in 2010. Lysmata malagasy sp. nov. is a new species belonging to the clade named “long accessory ramous” or “cosmopolitan” in previous phylogenetic studies. The new species can be distinguished from the only two other representatives of this group in the Indo-west Pacific, L. ternatensis De Man, 1902, and L. trisetacea (Heller, 1861), by the accessory ramus of the lateral antennular flagellum consisting of four elongated articles. Lysmata lipkei Okuno & Fiedler, 2010 is reported here from Madagascar with a remarkable extension of its known range after its original description from Japan. This species has also been reported from Singapore and, as alien species, from Brazil. Lastly, L. kuekenthali De Man, 1902 known from numerous localities in the Indo-West Pacific biogeographic area, is reported for the first time from Madagascar. Results of the present morphological and molecular analyses suggest that L. hochi Baeza & Anker, 2008 from the Caribbean Sea is a synonym of the Indo-West Pacific L. kuekenthali, and thus the latter species is alien in the western Atlantic.

A New Species

A new species of Acrotaeniostola Hendel, A. connexa sp. n. of tribe Gastrozonini, is described from India. Acroceratitis incompleta Hardy of tribe Gastrozonini and Ceratitella sobrina (Zia) of tribe Ceratitidini have been recorded for the first time from India. The genus Ceratitella Malloch and tribe Ceratitidini are recorded for the first time from India.
