To solve the harmony problem of accuration, real-time with anti-noise capability on edge detection of smokescreen, the edge detection algorithm of smokescreen based on multi-scale mathematical morphological is designed, and the algorithm can effectively reduce the noise of the smokescreen image. Compared with the results of classical edge detection operator: Sobel, Roberts, Prowitt and Canny etc, it is concluded that the algorithm designed has obvious advantages in continuity, smoothness, image recognition, practical complexity, operation time and other related parameters.

This article describes the Visual C++ call MATLAB engine detailed steps to achieve the VC-based interface to call MATLAB field geological position of multi-scale edge detection algorithm. The results show that, the development cycle of program and the workload is reduced, but also has a good Visual C++design of MATLAB user interface and convenient calculation and drawing ability. The program for the development of geophysical analysis software provides an effective way of high reliability, low development cycle.

The extraction of edge feature is a key technology in the foreign fibers recognition. The traditional algorithm of edge detection operator is more sensitive to noise, which is unable to extract complete edge information. Based on the morphological edge detection, we can get the ideal foreign fibers edge characteristics under the condition of noise for the multi-scale structure elements, combining with inflation and corrosion operator to structure morphology gradient operator, the adjustment of morphology structure elements dimensions. Experiment results show that it has a certain feasibility and effectiveness compared to classic edge detection algorithm in the respect of restraining the noise and improving the testing precision.
