We analyze linear perturbations of a coupled quasi-geostrophic atmosphere-ocean model based on Covariant Lyapunov Vectors (CLVs). CLVs reveal the local geometrical structure of the attractor, and point into the direction of linear perturbations applied to the trajectory. Thus they represent a link between the geometry of the attractor and basic dynamical properties of the system, and they are physically meaningful. We compute the CLVs based on the so-called Ginelli method using the tangent linear version of the quasi-geostrophic atmosphere-ocean model MAOOAM (Modular Arbitrary-Order Ocean-Atmosphere Model). Based on the CLVs, we can quantify the contribution of each model variable on each scale to the development of linear instabilities. We also study the changes in the structure of the attractor - and, consequently, in the basic dynamical properties of our system - as an effect of the ocean-atmopshere coupling strength and the model resolution.

In this paper, we present a novel approach for detection and tracking of lane crossing/illegal lane crossing vehicles in traffic video of urban highways. For that intention, an initial pace is performed that estimates the road region of the geometrical structure. After finding the road region, every vehicle is tracked in order to detect lane crossing vehicles according to the distance between lane lines and vehicle centre, it is followed by tracking of lane crossing vehicles based on model-based strategy. The proposed system has been evaluated using recall and precision metric, which are received using experiments carried on selected video sequences of GRAM-RTM dataset and publically available video sequences. The experimental results present that our method reaches the highest accuracy for detection of vehicles and tracking of lane crossing vehicles.

Color characterization model for multi-color printing system has become one of the most important research content in high-fidelity reproduction techniques. But, none of the related research considered the effect of multi-level control on color characterization. A color characterization model for multi-level and multi-color printing system was presented based on cellular Yule-Nielson Spectral Neugebauer (CYNSN) model. In the model, multi-level dynamic cell division method based on ink coverage-lightness curve of each level was proposed. Shared regional correction and cell searching algorithm were introduced into backward characterization model establishment which improve the performance of backward model significantly. Finally, the experiments of color gamut discussion, forward model evaluation and backward model evaluation indicate that the characterization model expands the color gamut of printing system, in the meantime, guarantees high conversion accuracy.

Abstract Bayesian decision theory provides a simple formal elucidation of some of the ways that representation and representational abstraction are involved with, and exploit, both prediction and its rather distant cousin, predictive coding. Both model-free and model-based methods are involved.
