ABSTRACT The draft genome of Bacillus sp. SPB7, which was isolated from the marine sponge Spongia officinalis, is presented. This bacterium is a producer of an antimicrobial cyclic diketopiperazine, (3S,6S)-3,6-diisobutylpiperazine-2,5-dione. The genome consists of 4,511 protein-coding genes, 63 tRNAs, 2 16S rRNAs, 3 23S rRNAs, and a single copy of 5S rRNA.

This study reports the draft genome sequence of the endophytic Streptomyces cavourensis strain YBQ59, produces the antibiotics bafilomycin D, nonactic acid, prelactone B, and 5,11-epoxy-10-cadinanol. The draft genome sequence comprises ∼10.2 Mb, with a GC content of 64% and 8,958 predicted protein-coding genes, of which 14 gene clusters were found to associate with antibiotic biosynthetic pathways.

ABSTRACT Here, we describe the draft genome sequence of Bacillus velezensis strain X-BIO-1, which contains 16 contigs, comprising 3,861,135 bp with a G+C content of 46.54%. The annotated draft genome contains 3,710 protein-coding genes and 62 RNA genes. We identified genes responsible for the synthesis of various antibiotics.

ABSTRACT Clostridium oryzae was originally isolated from the soil of a Japanese rice field. C. oryzae represents a novel species within the genus Clostridium and is associated with anaerobic rice straw degradation. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of C. oryzae DSM 28571 (5.076 Mbp), containing 4,590 predicted protein-coding genes.

ABSTRACT Moorella humiferrea is an endospore-forming, anaerobic, and thermophilic bacterium which was isolated from a terrestrial hydrothermal spring. M. humiferrea is able to use humic acid or 10-anthraquinone-2,6-disulfonate as an electron-shuttling compound for growth and Fe(III) reduction. The genome has a size of 2.629 Mb and contains 2,668 predicted protein-coding genes.

We present the draft genome sequence of a Streptococcus anginosus strain isolated from the female urinary tract. The S. anginosus UMB1296 draft genome has a size of 1,924,009 bp assembled into 35 contigs with a GC content of 38.69%. Genome annotation revealed 1,775 protein-coding genes, including several known virulence factors.

In 2007, Salirhabdus euzebyi was first described as a bacterial isolate from a sea salt evaporation pond. As no genome sequence was previously available for this species, we performed whole-genome sequencing. The chromosome of strain Q1438 was 3,784,443 bp long with 36% G+C content, 3,830 protein-coding genes, and 74 RNA genes.
