Power counting in 1/Nc in the chiral soliton model

In the large Nc limit, the SU(3) flavor representations for the baryons are large. Naively this suggests that predictions for properties of hyperons and nucleons based on the semiclassical approximation in the chiral soliton model get corrections suppressed by only [Formula: see text]. In this paper it is shown by explicit computation that these corrections are actually suppressed by 1/Nc. We also predict relations between the structure functions of the proton that are valid in the large Nc limit.
