In this paper, we initiate the concept of orthogonal partial b -metric spaces. We ensure the existence of a unique fixed point for some orthogonal contractive type mappings. Some useful examples are given, and an application is also provided in support of the obtained results.

This paper aims at proving some unique fixed-point results for different contractive-type self-mappings in fuzzy metric spaces by using the “triangular property of the fuzzy metric”. Some illustrative examples are presented to support our results. Moreover, we present an application by resolving a particular case of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind.

Samet et. al. (Nonlinear Anal. 75, 2012, 2154-2165) introduced the concept of alpha-psi-contractive type mappings in metric spaces. In 2013, Alghamdi et. al. [2] introduced the concept of G-β--contractive type mappings in G-metric spaces. Our aim is to introduce new concept of generalized G-η-χ-contractive pair of mappings. Further, we study some fixed point theorems for such mappings in complete G-metric spaces. As an application, we further establish common fixed point theorems for G-metric spaces for cyclic contractive mappings.

We prove coincidence and common fixed point theorems of four self mappings satisfying a generalized contractive type condition in complete cone metric spaces. Our results generalize some well-known recent results. Keywords: Common fixed point; Complete cone metric space; Weakly compatible maps.© 2011 JSR Publications. Fixed-point theory in complex valued metric spaces has greatly developed in recent times. In this paper, we prove certain common fixed-point theorems for two single-valued mappings in such spaces. The mappings we consider here are assumed to satisfy certain metric inequalities with generalized fixed-point theorems due to Rouzkard and Imdad (2012). This extends and subsumes many results of other authors which were obtained for mappings on complex-valued metric spaces.

Two open problems in the fixed point theory of quasi metric spaces posed in [Berinde, V. and Choban, M. M., Generalized distances and their associate metrics. Impact on fixed point theory, Creat. Math. Inform., 22 (2013), No. 1, 23–32] are considered. We give a complete answer to the first problem, a partial answer to the second one, and also illustrate the complexity and relevance of these problems by means of four very interesting and comprehensive examples.

In this paper, we prove tripledcoincidence and common fixed point theorems for $F: X\times X\times X\to X$ and $g:X\to X$ satisfying almost generalized contractions in partially ordered metric spaces. The presented results generalize the theorem of Berinde and Borcut Tripled fixed point theorems for contractive type mappings in partially ordered metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal 74(15) (2011)4889--4897. Also, some examples are presented.

In this paper we investigate the existence and uniqueness of common fixed point theorems for certain contractive type of mappings. As an application the existence and uniqueness of common solutions for a system of functional equations arising in dynamic programming are discuss by using the our results.
