Dario neela, a newly described badid fish endemic to the Western Ghats is little known to science. Distribution and ecology of this species is not well documented.  In this paper, we provide information on new records of this rare fish from Wayanad region of the Western Ghats and discuss its distribution, ecology and conservation.

The present paper reports new records of six species of termites (Blattodea: Termitidae), viz.,  Angulitermes acutus Mathur & Sen-Sarma, Dicuspiditermes obtusus (Silvestri), Pericapritermes dunensis (Roonwal & Sen-Sarma), Pericapritermes topslipensis Thakur, Nasutitermes cherraensis Roonwal & Chhotani, and Nasutitermes kali Roonwal & Chhotani from Kerala.  Three species P. dunensis, N. cherraensis and N. kali are reported for the first time from the Western Ghats. The details of materials collected, diagnostic characters and distribution data in India are provided.

Diversity of the genus Drepanolejeunea (Spruce) Schiffn. of the family Lejeuneaceae in Kerala is discussed in detail. So far, 8 species have been reported from the Western Ghats, of which 6 occur in Kerala. This paper provides detailed descriptions of 5 of the species collected from Kerala during the present survey. Among these, Drepanolejeunea erecta (Steph.) Mizut. is new to the Western Ghats, D. fleischeri (Steph.) Grolle & Zhu, D. pentadactyla (Mont.) Steph. and D. ternatensis (Gottsche) Steph. are new records for Kerala.

The paper describes Bapalmuia palmuaris, Byssoloma leucoblepharum and Gyalectidium filicinum as a new record of foliicolous lichens from the Western Ghats parts of Karnataka, India.  A brief taxonomic description, remarks, ecological notes and distribution details are provided.

Abstract The paper gives new records of four foliicolous lichenised fungi from the Western Ghats: Strigula melanobapha (Kremp.) R. Sant., S. nemathora Mont. f. nemathora, S. nemathora f. hypothelia (Nyl.) Lücking and S. orbicularis Fr. A brief taxonomic description, remarks, ecological notes and distribution details are provided for all the studied taxa.
