Two Neotropical species of the subfamily Castianeirinae are treated herein. Castianeira spinipalpis Mello-Leitão, 1945 was described from a single female specimen; we provide a redescription of the female and the male is described for the first time. The species is newly recorded from Paraguay and Bolivia. Also, Myrmecotypus rubioi sp. nov. is described from the Bolivian Moxos plains, a tropical savanna ecoregion of the Beni department of northern Bolivia. The new species can be distinguished from others in the genus by having tibia I spination 3-2, coxa II whitish (the remainder dark), and a unique male palpal embolus with two broad embolic discs basal to the embolus tip.

The Lepidoptera fauna of the island of Flores (Lesser Sunda Archipelago, Indonesia) shares a large proportion of endemic species, which may reach 80–100% in several groups (Zolotuhin & Witt 2005; Nässig et al. 2009; Zolotuhin 2009; Nässig & Bouyer 2010; Yakovlev 2015; Spitsyn & Potapov 2020; Spitsyn & Bolotov 2020). A plethora of new species was described from this island during the last 15 years, e.g. the tiger moth Spilarctia mikeli Bolotov, Kondakov & Spitsyn, 2018 (Zolotuhin & Witt 2005; Yakovlev 2006; Spitsyn & Bolotov 2020a, b, c). This species was described based on a single female specimen collected in West Flores (Bolotov et al. 2018). In the present paper, we describe the male of Spilarctia mikeli for the first time, and illustrate variability of marking patterns of both the male and the female of this species.

The first fossil species of the wasp genus Tracheliodes from Dominican amber is described. Tracheliodes grimaldiisp. nov. is based on a single female specimen exhibiting a somewhat generalized morphology compared to the extant fauna. While the new species resembles the Neotropical species in a few characters, it does not possess the many specialized features exhibited by this species group, especially those related to the female legs. This is the 4th genus and the 7th species of apoid wasps described from Dominican amber.

Two species of axiid shrimp are reported from sublittoral to upper bathyal waters around the Ogasawara Islands, Japan. The first, Bouvieraxius keiensis Sakai, 1992, is recorded from Japanese waters for the first time, although it is known widely from the southwestern Pacific to western Indian Ocean. Taxonomic problems of this taxon are pointed out. The second, Manaxius aurantiaca n. sp., is described based on a single female specimen from the Kaikata Seamount (at a depth of 299–335 m). It has rounded pleura of the pleomeres 2–5, and is notable in the lack of spines on the upper margin of the cheliped palms. In this regard, the new species closely resembles M. iro Poore, 2020. Differentiating characters between M. aurantiaca n. sp. and M. iro are discussed.

Three genera (Isodrapetis Collin, Chersodromia Walker, Elaphropeza Macquart) and six species of Tachydromiinae (Hybotidae) are recorded from the Galápagos Islands. One new species of Isodrapetis (I. meridionalis sp. n.) and three new species of Chersodromia (C. floreana sp. n., C. galapagensis sp. n., C. isabela sp. n.) are described. Elaphropeza zonalis (Curran) is redescribed and a fourth species of Chersodromia is identified based on a single female specimen. A key to all Galápagos species is provided. Isodrapetis is recorded for the first time outside of New Zealand. The affinities of the Galápagos Tachydromiinae to the New World fauna are discussed.

A new Neotropical species of Pirhosigma Giordani Soika, 1978 is described, Pirhosigma transfluvium Ferreira & Oliveira. The male of Pirhosigma limpidum Giordani Soika, 1978 is reported for the first time. An illustrated identification key is presented for all currently recognized species of Pirhosigma.

Four new Neotropical species of Plecia Wiedemann (Diptera: Bibionidae) are described: P. abruptavena sp. n. (Colombia), P. elsalvadorensis sp. n. (El Salvador), P. nessiae sp. n. (Brazil), and P. schusteri sp. n. (Guatemala). Additionally, P. marginata Edwards is redescribed and the male described for the first time. A discussion of Neotropical species-groups is given and three species-groups based on male terminalia are outlined to include the new taxa: the americana-group (7 species), nigra-group (13 species), and xyele-group (2 species).

Heteragrion itacolomii sp. nov. (♂ holotype: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Ouro Preto, Parque Estadual do Itacolomi, Trilha da Lagoa, 1350m, 23-xii-2018, 20º25’57”S, 43º30’27”W; and ♀ allotype, same data as holotype, but collected in tandem 20-iii-2019, deposited in ABMM – CCT/UFMG collection) is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to H. tiradentense Machado & Bedê, 2006, H. muryense Costa & Santos, 2000 and H. mantiqueirae Machado, 2006, based on coloration of the thorax and has cerci similar to those of H. freddiemercuryi Lencioni, 2013. It belongs to Group A and differs from other congeners by the morphology of the ventral expansion and the medial process of the cerci in males. Information about the intersternite of the single female specimen is also provided.

Hyadina borkumensis sp. n. is described from the East Frisian Island of Borkum (Germany, Lower Saxony, Wadden Sea) based on a single female specimen. The new species is characterized by the basally bent, brown wings with large white spots in radial cells r2+3, r4+5 and apical of crossvein dm-cu and its short radial vein R2+3. The new species shares the lateroclinate fronto-orbital seta with representatives of the Australasian–Oceanian genus Parahyadina Tonnoir & Malloch, 1926. The Australian planthopper genus Monomalpha Emeljanov, 2000 is reviewed. Males of M. gratiosa Emeljanov, 2000, a species originally described from a single female specimen, are presented for the first time. A new species, M. stenocara from Queensland is described. Together with the type species M. gratiosa, recorded from Queensland and mainland NSW, and M. fletcheri Emeljanov, 2000, a species endemic to Lord Howe Island (New South Wales) there are now three species recognised in the genus Monomalpha. A new endemic genus, Latissima gen. nov., is created within Cixiini to accommodate a new species from Queensland, Latissima isleyensis sp. nov. Identification keys to the genera of Australian Cixiini and to the species of Monomalpha are presented and host plant relationships discussed, including the first record of an Australian cixiid from the tree fern family Cyatheaceae.

The identity of many species of Anisepyris Kieffer is currently unknown, mostly because the available taxonomic data are not sufficiently accurate to allow for precise identifications. To solve this problem, all 121 described species were investigated, including the analyses of 115 holotypes and 26 allotypes. Almost all Neotropical species of Epyrinae and many from the Nearctic were also examined in order to recognize possible species of Anisepyris misclassified in other genera. The ten species-groups included in Anisepyris are redefined. And the female genital structures of the genus are investigated for the first time. Based on this, we recognize 119 previously described species as belonging to Anisepyris, one species is transferred to Laelius Ashmead, L. foveaticeps (Rosmann & Azevedo) comb. nov., one is transferred to Chlorepyris Kieffer, C. nigerrimus (Evans) comb. nov., and 135 new species are described to science, so that the genus is now contains 254 species. They are recorded from 31 countries of the New World. Lectotypes are designated for A. aurichalceus (Westwood) and A. planiceps (Fabricius). The previously identified species-groups are re-organized into six, and seven additional species-groups are proposed are new. Identification keys for Anisepyris species-groups and species are provided.
