Iteaphila Zetterstedt is redefined to include species with both branched and unbranched radial vein (R4+5) on the basis of a morphological cladistic analysis and parsimony analysis of COI mitochondrial DNA barcode sequences. As a result, Anthepiscopus Becker is hypothesized as a junior synonym of Iteaphila and species of the Iteaphila setosa group are transferred to the new genus, Paraiteaphila gen. nov. The following new combinations are proposed: P. arundela (Shamshev & Sinclair, 2009) comb. nov., P. caucasica (Shamshev & Sinclair, 2009) comb. nov., P. italica (Loew, 1873) comb. nov., P. kubaniensis (Shamshev & Sinclair, 2009) comb. nov., P. merzi (Shamshev & Sinclair, 2009) comb. nov. and P. setosa (Bezzi, 1924) comb. nov. These two genera are assigned to the family Iteaphilidae stat. rev.                Thirty-five species of Iteaphila with unbranched radial vein are revised, including 26 new species: bulbosa species group (I. beringiensis sp. nov., I. bifida sp. nov., I. recta sp. nov., I. tribulosa sp. nov.), macquarti species group (I. bartaki sp. nov., I. falki sp. nov., I. kyrgyzstanensis sp. nov., I. ribesii (Becker, 1891) comb. nov.), nitidula species group (I. longiphallus sp. nov.), nupta species group (I. arnaudi sp. nov., I. bayarea sp. nov., I. brooksi sp. nov., I. dichoptica sp. nov., I. flavipilosa (Coquillett, 1900) comb. nov., I. glabricula sp. nov., I. gracilis sp. nov., I. grandis sp. nov., I. lolo sp. nov., I. longipalpis (Melander, 1928) comb. nov., I. luteitibia sp. nov., I. nupta (Melander, 1928) comb. nov., I. sierrensis sp. nov., I. spinosa sp. nov., I. subnupta sp. nov.), oedalina species group (I. aktruensis sp. nov., I. incus sp. nov., I. miranda sp. nov., I. oedalina (Zetterstedt, 1838) comb. nov., I. polygyna (Melander, 1928) comb. nov., I. recurvata sp. nov., I. sakhalinensis sp. nov., I. zontaki (Nowicki, 1871) comb. nov.), stentor species group (I. parastentor sp. nov., I. stentor (Melander, 1902) comb. nov.) and unplaced to species group (I. caelebs (Becker, 1891) comb. nov.). The following new synonyms are proposed: I. flavicoxa (Melander, 1928) is a junior synonym of I. polygyna (Melander, 1928); I. hirsutus (Melander, 1928) is a junior synonym of I. oedalina (Zettersedt, 1838). Lectotypes are designated for the following species: I. flavipilosa, I. fraternella Zetterstedt, I. nigra Zetterstedt, I. nupta, I. oedalina, I. polygyna and I. ribesii. All species of Iteaphila with unbranched R4+5 are described, key to species presented, male terminalia illustrated, distributions plotted and flowers visited by these species are listed. COI mitochondrial DNA barcode sequences were obtained for 18 identified Nearctic species of Iteaphila with both branched and unbranched R4+5.

Hyadina borkumensis sp. n. is described from the East Frisian Island of Borkum (Germany, Lower Saxony, Wadden Sea) based on a single female specimen. The new species is characterized by the basally bent, brown wings with large white spots in radial cells r2+3, r4+5 and apical of crossvein dm-cu and its short radial vein R2+3. The new species shares the lateroclinate fronto-orbital seta with representatives of the Australasian–Oceanian genus Parahyadina Tonnoir & Malloch, 1926. Objective: We evaluate the creation of a percutaneous proximal radial artery–radial vein arteriovenous fistula with Ellipsys® instead of the usual first-stage brachial artery fistula prior to a second-stage brachial vein elevation, in patients with inadequate cephalic and basilic veins. Methods: Single center study of eight patients (six males, mean = 54 years) who underwent a two-stage brachial vein elevation procedure between May 2017 and October 2019. Inclusion criteria were life expectancy > 6 months, patent brachial and proximal radial artery (>2 mm in diameter) absent/inadequate cephalic and basilic veins, existence of a brachial vein >3 mm in diameter, and in continuity with a proximal radial vein > 2 mm in diameter. Results: Technical success was 100%. Four patients required angioplasty of a juxta-anastomotic stenosis, accounting for a 6-month primary and secondary patency rates were 68% and 100%, respectively. Access flow averaged 982 mL/min (range 768–1586) at final follow-up evaluation. There were no significant adverse events related to the procedures. All fistulae were elevated at 4–12 (mean: 8) weeks post creation and were successfully cannulated with two needles after healing was completed (2–4 weeks after elevation). No patients developed hand ischemia or arm edema. Conclusions: Percutaneous creation of a proximal radial artery–radial vein fistula followed by brachial vein elevation is a safe and reliable option for autogenous access creation in patients with inadequate cephalic or basilic veins. Minimally invasive radial artery inflow and longer available length of the targeted brachial vein available for elevation are the main advantages in skilled hands.

AbstractIn Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, peripheral venous cannulation is done for administrating antibiotics, fluids and supplements. Here we introduce the fracture of i.v cannula during removal inside the blood vessel. Peripheral i.v cannulation was done in radial vein with a 20G cannula in a patient with trauma for receiving antibiotics and fluids.Under sterile conditions, the broken piece of the cannula was removed from a vein with a surgical incision and the skin was sutured.

A new species of the extinct genusMicrophoritesHennig, 1971 (Dolichopodidae s. lat.: Microphorinae) is described from a single female preserved in Študlov amber (Moravia, Czech Republic), currently dated from the Paleocene to the middle Eocene.Microphorites moravicussp. n. has the typical wing venation of the genus, e.g., three radial veins, crossvein r-m, crossvein bm-cu complete, cell dm, two medial veins and vein CuA1. It differs from the other species ofMicrophoritesby the long antenna, with prolonged and laterally compressed first flagellomere and presence of a pterostigma at the fusion of the first radial vein and costa. A comparison ofM. moravicuswith all other species ofMicrophorites, as well as fossil and extant species ofMicrophorMacquart, 1827 is given. The age and source plant of Študlov amber is discussed in terms of newly performed geochemical analyses.

The amorphous alloy application is limited because of its brittleness property. Based on the grain structural characteristics of nanocrystal alloys, the mechanical behavior of the amorphous/nanocrystal Ni-Mo23.56alloy is investigated in this text. The microstructure of the deposit and the crack propagation were discussed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The experimental results show that amorphous/nanocrystal Ni-Mo23.56alloy has a higher microhardness, a strong binding force between a certain thickness coating with the substrate. The tensile stress-strain pattern shows a certain degree of plastic deformation behavior in the coating and tensile fracture surface of radial vein structure, in line with the free volume fracture model.
