The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu2(C18H12Br2N4O2S2)2], consists of binuclear complex units which lie across inversion centres and are connected by weak Cu—O coordination bonds forming chains along thebaxis. The CuIIion is five-coordinated by two N atoms and two O atoms of the chelating ligand and one symmetry-related O atom forming a square-pyramidal coordination geometry. In the crystal, short S...Br contacts connect neighbouring chains into a two-dimensional network parallel to (101).

AbstractThe binuclear complex Re(I)2(μ-4,4′-bipyridine)(8-quinolinolato)2(CO)6 has been prepared and characterized including the crystal structure. This complex shows, dependent on the conditions, three emissions, which originate from the quinolinolate IL excited state (fluorescence and phosphorescence) and from a Re(I) to 4,4′-bipyridine MLCT state (phosphorescence).

The centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu2(C2H2N2O4)(C10H8N2)2(C2H6OS)2](ClO4)2, contains two copper(II) ions, connected through an N-deprotonated oxalodihydroxamic acid dianion, two terminal 2,2′-bipyridine ligands, and two apically coordinating dimethylsulfoxide molecules. Two non-coordinating perchlorate anions assure electrical neutrality. The copper(II) ions in the complex dication [Cu2(C10H8N2)2(μ-C2H2N2O4)(C2H6SO)2]2+are in an O2N3square-pyramidal donor environment, the Cu–Cu separation being 5.2949 (4) Å. Two hydroxamate groups in the deprotonated oxalodihydroxamic acid are locatedtransto one each other. In the crystal, O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen bonds link the complex cations to the perchlorate anions. Further C—H...O hydrogen bonds combine with π–π contacts with a centroid-to-centroid separation of 3.6371 (12) Å to stack the molecules along thea-axis direction.

In the title compound, [Cu2(OH)2(C12H8N2)2(H2O)2](C12H6O4)·6H2O, the two hydroxide groups bridge the two CuIIcations, forming a centrosymmetric binuclear complex cation, in which the CuIIcation is coordinated by a 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) molecule, one water molecule and two bridging hydroxide O atoms in a distorted N2O3square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylate anion is also located on an inversion centre. In the crystal, O—H...O hydrogen bonds link the cations, anions and lattice water molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture. Extensive π–π stacking is observed between the parallel or nearly parallel aromatic rings of adjacent phen ligands and naphthalenedicarboxylate anions, the centroid-to-centroid distances ranging from 3.4990 (16) to 3.8895 (16) Å.
