This paper addresses the issue of wireless bandwidth partitioning of a Mobile WiMAX cell. The authors consider a Complete Partitioning strategy, where the wireless bandwidth capacity of a cell is divided into trunks. Each partition is strictly reserved to a particular type of connection. Four IEEE 802.16e 2005 service classes are distinguished: UGS, rtPS, nrtPS, and ErtPS. The authors consider mobility and differentiate new call request from handoffs. In addition, the authors take into consideration the Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) scheme, through the partition of the cell into different areas associated to a particular modulation and coding scheme. The purpose of the paper is to determine, using an analytical model and a heuristic approach, the nearly optimal sizes of the partition sizes dedicated to each type of connection, which is characterized by its service class, type of request and modulation, and coding scheme.

Weak-beam dark field (WBDF) TEM produces narrowly spaced equal-thickness fringes in wedge-shaped crystals. Using non-systematic diffraction conditions, we have shown elsewhere that simple 2-beam kinematical theory (KT) calculations yield average fringe spacings that are for most practical purposes as satisfactorily accurate as the average spacings obtained from optimized multibeam dynamical theory (DT) calculations, As Fig. 1 shows, this result holds for deviations from the Bragg condition as low as 2x10-1 nm-1, and the differences between the results from the two calculational methods become increasingly insignificant for larger excitation errors. (Unless otherwise noted, all results reported here are for gold crystals, using the 200 beam at 100 KV; the DT calculations were made for 74 beams, using the selection criterion D as discussed in ref. [3]).

In this article, we report on a multimethod qualitative study designed to explore the emotional experiences of students in the classroom setting. The purpose of the study was threefold: (1) to explore the correspondence among nonverbal expressions, subjective feelings, and physiological reactivity (heart rate changes) of students’ emotions in the classroom; (2) to examine the relationship between students’ emotions and their competence and value appraisals; and (3) to determine whether task difficulty matters in emotional experiences. We used multiple methods (nonverbal coding scheme, video stimulated recall interview, and heart rate monitoring) to acquire data on emotional experiences of six grade 7 students. Concurrent correspondence analyses of the emotional indices revealed that coherence between emotional response systems, although apparent, is not conclusive. The relationship between appraisals and emotions was evident, but the effect of task difficulty appears to be minimal.
