The spatial selectivity of a four-wave radiation converter in a multimode waveguide with thermal nonlinearity in a circuit with incident pump waves is analyzed. It is shown that the half-widths of the modulus of the point spread function, which characterizes the image conversion quality, are mainly determined by the transverse dimensions of the waveguide. With an increase in the angle of incidence of the pump waves on the front face of the waveguide, it decreases both the maximum value and the half-width of the modulus of the point spread function. The recording of two temperature gratings in the waveguide leads to a modulation of the point spread function with a period inversely proportional to the angle of incidence of the pump waves.

The time dependence of a quality of wave-front reversal has been analyzed at four-wave interaction in a waveguide with thermal nonlinearity. The influence of waveguide parameters and mode structure of pumping waves on time dependence character has been investigated. It has been shown, that increases of number of single-mode pumping waves lead to decreases of difference in point spread function width in steady state and initial state.

Accuracy of conversion of radiation by degenerate four-wave-converter on the Kerr nonlinearity under quasiperpendicular interaction geometry was analyzed with the use of point spread function method. The increasing of accuracy of radiation conversion by such converter compared to the same converter with quasicollinear geometry interaction. Correlation between the half-width module of point spread function and divergence of the pump wave, position of the focusing plane of signal wave, shear wave propagation direction with respect to the pump face of the nonlinear layer were obtained.
