An interaction numerical simulation of the microwave range electromagnetic waves with nanometer thickness conductive films, which are approximated by homogeneous region and micro- or nanoparticle’s structures, is carried out. Using the rigorous coupled wave analysis, the optical coefficients change dynamics is studied from values characterize dielectric to values for uniform conductive films, and the influence of conductive islands size and distribution on the electromagnetic characteristics is analyzed.

In this paper, a hybrid numerical simulation tool is introduced and performed for GaInN-based light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with metal-embedded nanostructure to theoretically predict external quantum efficiency (EQE), which composed of finite-difference time-domain, rigorous coupled wave analysis, and ray tracing. The advantage is that the proposed method provides results supported by sufficient physical background within a reasonable calculation time. From the simulation results, the EQE of LED with Ag-nanoparticles embedded nanostructure is expected to be enhanced by as high as ∼1.6 times the conventional LED device in theory.

Since the development almost a decade ago of the first biosensor based on surface plasmon resonance (SPR), the use of this technique has increased steadily. In this study, we theoretically investigated the sensing character of SPR sensor with reflection type metallic with Rigorous Coupled Wave Analysis (RCWA) method, and the mechanism is analyzed by the field distribution. It is found that the sensitivity of negative diffraction order, which goes higher quickly as the resonant angle increases, is much greater than that of positive diffraction order.

This paper presents the simulation results of top nano-grating on solar cell using rigorous coupled wave analysis (RCWA) method. However, compared to other simulation results, we calculated weighted total transmission of solar cell according to Sun spectrum and Silicon photo detector responsivity. Our optimization shows that the top grating with period 200nm, width 40nm, and height 150nm is the optimization structure. This case has 0.45544 total weighted transmission powers and is about 70.9% improvement compared to the non-grating case.

Waveguide and cavity microwave filters continue to be the most important components of high-power radio electronic systems. Cavity microwave filters are of great interest as a separate group of devices of this type. The fields of application of such filters are constantly expanding, and the variety of their design is quite large. In addition, the requirements for their electromagnetic characteristics and reliability are currently increasing. In this regard, it becomes necessary to analyze the already created designs of these devices and study the main trends of their improvement. The objective of the present study is to review the known technical solutions of bandpass filters, made on cavity resonators of the microwave range. An overview of the designs of devices for filtering electromagnetic waves on cavity resonators with coaxial and waveguide coupling elements of various frequency ranges is carried out. It is proposed to use the configuration of basic resonators as the main criterion for the classification of these devices. In accordance with this criterion, five groups of filters are considered: on rectangular, cylindrical, spherical, coaxial resonators, as well as on resonators of complex shape. The review makes it possible to analyze the features of the implementation of different technical solutions for bandpass microwave filters of medium and high power levels and to identify the main trends in the development of this area of research.
