4Pi single molecule localization microscopy (4Pi-SMLM) with two opposing objectives achieves sub-10 nm isotropic 3D resolution with as few as 250 photons collected by each objective. Here, we developed a new ratiometric multi-color imaging strategy for 4Pi-SMLM which employed the intrinsic multi-phase interference intensity without increasing the complexity of the system and achieved both optimal 3D resolution and color separation. By partially linking the photon parameters between channels with interference difference of π during global fitting of the multi-channel 4Pi single molecule data, we showed on simulated data that the loss of the localization precision is minimal compared with the theoretical minimum uncertainty, the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB).

The article is dedicated to the role of polychrome solutions of the architectonic order in the concept of the Baroque façade. The ancient principles of designing architectural structures, inherited from the Renaissance were subjected to reinterpretations in order to impart different expressive values. The arrangements of façades, initially balanced or even horizontal, were replaced by ambiguous bivalent compositions. Vertical layouts began to dominate in the Baroque. Appropriately selected polychrome of the elements of the order could emphasize the compositional expression. The relationship between the layout of the polychrome in a given architectural order and the expression of a work of art has been established for quite a long time. However, the generally available data on color schemes of architectural structures in baroque buildings are still not fully organized. The paper analyses examples of Baroque façades preserved in their original state and revalorized in recent years after thorough conservator’s research in the field of architecture and color. The examples are mainly designed in the so-called great order, i.e. pertaining largely to church façades. In the Baroque, the vertical direction of the composition was strongly emphasized by multiplying or applying perspective arrangements of supports, and finally by embattled entablatures. The decisive field of change became the shaping of the coloristic decoration of the entablature – decisions regarding the material and color separation of elements of the frieze above the supports. The uniform color of all vertical elements of the façade structure guaranteed an unambiguous verticality of the composition.

A single-shot three-dimensional measuring method based on quadrature phase-shifting color composite grating projection is proposed. Firstly, three quadrature phase-shifting sinusoidal gratings are encoded in red (R), green (G), and blue (B) channels respectively, composed single- frame color composite grating. This color composite grating is projecting obliquely on the object by DLP. After that, the color camera which is placed in a specific location is used to capture the corresponding color deformed pattern and send it to the PC. Then, by color separation, the color deformed pattern is demodulated as the corresponding three-frame monochromatic deformed patterns with a shifted quadrature phase. Due to the existences of sensitivity differences and color crosstalk among the tricolor channels, we propose a gray imbalance correction method based on the DC component’s consistency approximation. By the established 3D reconstruction physical model, the measurement of 3D shape can be achieved. Many experimental results for static and moving objects prove the proposed method’s feasibility and practicability. Owing to the single-shot feature of the proposed method, it has a good application prospect in real-time and high-speed 3D measurement.

For people in developing countries, cassava is a major source of calories and carbohydrates. However, Cassava Mosaic Disease (CMD) has become a major cause of concern among farmers in sub-Saharan Africa countries, which rely on cassava for both business and local consumption. The article proposes a novel deep residual convolution neural network (DRNN) for CMD detection in cassava leaf images. With the aid of distinct block processing, we can counterbalance the imbalanced image dataset of the cassava diseases and increase the number of images available for training and testing. Moreover, we adjust low contrast using Gamma correction and decorrelation stretching to enhance the color separation of an image with significant band-to-band correlation. Experimental results demonstrate that using a balanced dataset of images increases the accuracy of classification. The proposed DRNN model outperforms the plain convolutional neural network (PCNN) by a significant margin of 9.25% on the Cassava Disease Dataset from Kaggle.

The relevance of the research lies in the use of conventional software products distributed under the GNU license to assess staining of histological material based on the analysis of photomicrographs. The purpose of the study is to demonstrate the opportunities of conventional software distributed under the GNU license, designed for color analysis of photos in histology to identify differences in tinctorial properties of tissues. The authors evaluated the opportunities of the Color Analysis program launched in the Android Nox Player 6.6.1.0 emulator (GNU license) under Windows 10 for color analysis of photomicrographs of various tissues histological sections. Photomicrographs of paraffin sections of 5 microns thick were obtained using a micro-microscope Mikmed-5 using a Levenhuk C800 NG 8M video eyepiece, USB 2.0. A white light lamp Feron G4 4000 K was used as an illuminator. In color analysis of photomicrographs stained with hematoxylin and eosin, or hematoxylin and Congo red, or by Unna, or by the designer three-color amyloid staining in the Color Analysis program, color separation patterns were obtained that reflect the relative area (%) of the field of view staining with shades characteristic for this method of staining. The authors formulate the standard conditions for the preparation of histological specimen and conditions for photographing micro-preparations to obtain comparable results in an experiment with the control-experience design. It is concluded that the program color analysis provides a significant amount of additional information about the histological material, which can be formalized and studied as statistical values.
