Nowadays, colleges and universities have a large amount of information about political thought and education in addition to complex student data. Like big data, it has the characteristics of large capacity, high speed, and diversity. The ideological and political education in colleges and universities urgently needs scientific decision-making and the ability to predict possible problems ahead of time. It also perfectly matches the technical advantages of big data technology that can efficiently process data, analyze and extract information, as well as propose solutions. The traditional higher education model can no longer meet the needs of current international higher education. Under the new background, universities must explore a new model of postgraduate international education, which is practical, multi-channel, and comprehensive, on a deeper level. According to data on graduate students’ interest, psychology, and behavior, higher education teachers can purposefully innovate the methods and approaches to higher education. The integration of international graduate education with big data has been examined in this research, and a series of cultural exchanges has been carried out for foreign students at Central South University. This kind of introduction seems to have effectively boosted the attractiveness of ideological and political education, improved the research level of international graduate students, and deepened the role of campus cultural activities in educating people on a deeper level.

In recent years, aesthetic education has been gradually emphasized by higher education. Colleges and universities actively apply aesthetic education in the cultivation of various professional talents, and integrate aesthetic education through courses such as ideological and political education. With a view to enhancing the aesthetic consciousness and ability of higher talents. Art education is the most important and direct way of aesthetic education. Based on this, this paper analyzes the current problems of aesthetic education in colleges and universities, and mainly uses the application of aesthetic education in art teaching as an example to explore the effective ways and methods of aesthetic education.

The continuous development of network information technology has prompted people to use big data to process information in order to improve work efficiency. All kinds of data are affecting people’s lives. Under the background of the big data era, college students’ values, studies and lifestyles, and access to information have changed obviously. Therefore, colleges and universities should make full use of the convenience of information in the era of big data to improve the informatization of ideological and political work in colleges and universities. The ideological consciousness and values of contemporary college students are strongly impacted by big piece of data. Based on the characteristics of big data, this paper conducts research and analysis on ideological and political education in colleges and universities in the era of big data, and makes full use of network resources to improve the ability of ideological and political education.

Higher education institutions in the United States (U.S.) recruit international students as part of their internationalization strategies. The overall number of international students enrolled in American universities and colleges between 2017 and 2018 increased by 1.5% compared to the previous year, totaling over 1 million international students (Institute of International Education 2018). Of this total, 382,983 are international graduate students. International graduate students are good resources for the internationalization and economy of higher education institutions in the U.S. (Urban and Palmer, 2014) and, despite the reduction in the number of visas approved and job prospects, their numbers continue to grow (Almurideef 2016; Killick 2015). These students come from different countries, have different cultural backgrounds and needs, and face different challenges that student affairs professionals at host institutions must address to integrate them into campus (Harper and Hurtado, 2007; Lee and Rice 2007). Moreover, the needs and challenges of international students differ depending on their level of studies, undergraduate vs. graduate (Rai 2002). While student affairs professionals are often the first contacts for all international students, and they play a key role in the integration and development of international graduate students on campus (Brandenburg 2016), most higher education institutions and their student affairs units today are not yet prepared to serve international graduate students (Arokiasamy 2011; Burdzinski 2014; Castellanos et al., 2007; Di Maria 2012; Moswela and Mukhopadhyay 2011; Yakaboski and Perozzi 2018). The purpose of this study is to understand the perspectives of student affairs professional about their role in integrating international graduate students into campus and the policies, services, programs, and other elements they consider most helpful in integrating these students.

The National Southwest Associated University (Lianda) was born in Kunming, Yunnan Province and brought the force of the Peking University, Tsinghua University and Nankai University during Sino-Japanese War. As a temporary university living only eight years, it cultivated lots of professionals in all areas during hard years. Lianda provided some unique educational ideas and ideological and political education methods for the higher education.
