AbstractComputer software is a part of a computer system that has no physical form and is not visible because it is a collection of electronic data that is stored and regulated by a computer in the form of a program that can run a command. A software is a connecting bridge that connects users with hardware so that they can carry out certain commands. Abstrak Perangkat lunak komputer (Software) adalah suatu perangkat yang berfungsi sebagai pengatur aktivitas kerja komputer dan seluruh intruksi yang mengarah pada sistem komputer dan menjembatani interaksi antara user dengan komputer. Sebuah software atau perangkat lunak merupakan jembatan penghubung yang menghubungkan antara pengguna dengan hardware sehingga dapat melakukan suatu perintah tertentu. Jadi, tanpa adanya software maka komputer hanyalah sebuah mesin yang tidak bisa menjalankan perintah apapun dari user. AbstrakSoftware (perangkat lunak) adalah sekumpulan data elektronik yang disimpan oleh komputer itu dapat berupa program atau intruksi yang akan menjalankan suatu perintah. Perangkat lunak adalah istilah umum untuk data yang diformat dan disimpan secara digital, termasuk perogram komputer, dokumentasinya, dan berbagai informasi yang bisa dibaca dan ditulis oleh komputer. Dengan kata lain, bagian sistem komputer yang tidak terwujud. Istilah ini menonjolkan perbedaan dengan perangkat keras komputer. Quiescent Prominence

This paper describes some recent results of our quiescent prominence spectrometry program at the Mees Solar Observatory on Haleakala. The observations were made with the 25 cm coronagraph/coudé spectrograph system using a silicon vidicon detector. This detector consists of 500 contiguous channels covering approximately 6 or 80 Å, depending on the grating used. The instrument is interfaced to the Observatory’s PDP 11/45 computer system, and has the important advantages of wide spectral response, linearity and signal-averaging with real-time display. Its principal drawback is the relatively small target size. For the present work, the aperture was about 3″ × 5″. Absolute intensity calibrations were made by measuring quiet regions near sun center.

We have long felt that some form of electronic information retrieval would be more desirable than conventional photographic methods in a high vacuum electron microscope for various reasons. The most obvious of these is the fact that with electronic data retrieval the major source of gas load is removed from the instrument. An equally important reason is that if any subsequent analysis of the data is to be made, a continuous record on magnetic tape gives a much larger quantity of data and gives it in a form far more satisfactory for subsequent processing.
