Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding the recombination activating gene 1 activating protein 1, RAG1AP1, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. RAG1AP1 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of RAG1AP1 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with recurrence-free survival in patients with basal type cancer. RAG1AP1 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding the integrator complex subunit 7, INTS7, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. INTS7 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of INTS7 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with distant metastasis-free survival in patients with luminal A and HER2+ type cancers, but contrarily. INTS7 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding plexin A3, PLXNA3, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. PLXNA3 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of PLXNA3 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with distant metastasis-free survival in patients with HER2+ type cancer. PLXNA3 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding spermatogenesis associated serine rich 2, SPATS2, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. SPATS2 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of SPATS2 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with distant metastasis-free survival in patients with basal type cancer. SPATS2 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding dCTP pyrophosphatase 1, DCTPP1, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. DCTPP1 was also differentially expressed in the tumor cells of patients with triple negative breast cancer. DCTPP1 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of DCTPP1 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with overall survival in patients with basal subtype cancer. DCTPP1 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

TUFT1 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of TUFT1 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with distant metastasis-free survival in patients with basal and luminal A subtype cancer. TUFT1 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding the kinesin family member 11, KIF11, when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. KIF11 was also differentially expressed in the tumor cells of patients with triple negative breast cancer. KIF11 mRNA was present at significantly higher quantities in tumors of the breast as compared to normal breast tissue. Analysis of human survival data revealed that expression of KIF11 in primary tumors of the breast was correlated with overall survival in patients with basal and luminal A subtype cancer, but in a contrary manner. KIF11 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.

Breast cancer affects women at relatively high frequency (1). We mined published microarray datasets (2, 3) to determine in an unbiased fashion and at the systems level genes most differentially expressed in the primary tumors of patients with breast cancer. We report here significant differential expression of the gene encoding the MuvB core complex and DREAM component Lin37 when comparing primary tumors of the breast to the tissue of origin, the normal breast. Expression of Lin37 in primary tumors of the breast was significantly higher than in normal breast tissue, and patients with low expression of Lin37 in primary tumors had greater relapse-free survival. Lin37 may be of relevance to initiation, maintenance or progression of cancers of the female breast.
