Abstract BELMONT ALLOY 4977 is a high-strength alloy for casting. Its high strength is achieved by solution treating and precipitation (age) hardening. It has good resistance to corrosion. This alloy is the most widely used high-strength beryllium-copper casting alloy; among its many uses are valves, pump components and molds for plastics.
