Abstract ANACONDA Alloy 706 (also known as Cupro Nickel, 10% 706) is a wrought 90% copper-10% nickel alloy developed to provide a material less costly than the copper-nickel alloys containing 20 or 30% nickel, but yet offering much of their excellent reliability. This was achieved by adding 1.25% iron to Alloy 706 to increase its resistance to corrosion by salt water.
