Abstract HY-80 is a low carbon, nickel, chromium, molybdenum alloy steel exhibiting moderate strength combined with excellent toughness and ductility at all expected service temperatures. It can be readily welded to form tough weldments. It is supplied in the quenched and tempered condition. It is recommended for pressure hulls of submarines and for ordnance equipment.
