Abstract Virgo 39 is a 1% Mo low-carbon martensitic stainless steel. This composition allows both weldability and enhanced corrosion resistance. The alloy is primarily designed for erosion-corrosion resistance in Pelton wheel and Kaplan blade-type applications.
