This essay explores the relation between repetition and thought in Bergson and Deleuze. In Bergson, this relation is seen in the method of intuition by which thought is made to think in time and in the ‘rhythms’ at work in how intuition is a contact with time or life, urging conceptual precision. This framework is used to clarify Deleuze's thought without image as that contingent encounter with the persistent forces of life that demand the perseverance of thought. Far from stressing difference alone, both link the repetition in life to the unsettling persistence required to develop a truly new thought.

The general objective of this study is to analyze the postulate of the ethics of otherness as the first philosophy, presented by Emmanuel Levinas. It is a proposal that runs through Levinas' thinking from his theoretical foundations, to his philosophical criticism. Levinas' thought presents itself as a new thought, as a critique of ontology and transcendental philosophy. For him, the concern with knowledge and with being made the other to be forgotten, placing the other in totality. Levinas proposes the ethics of otherness as sensitivity to the other. The subject says here I am, making myself responsible for the other in an infinite way, in a transcendence without return to myself, becoming hostage to the other, as an irrefutable responsibility. The idea of the infinite, present in the face of the other, points to a responsibility whoever more assumes himself, the more one is responsible, until the substitution by other.

AbstractAspergillus flavus is a common saprophytic filamentous fungus that produces the highly toxic natural compound aflatoxin during its growth process. Synthesis of the aflatoxins, which can contaminate food crops causing huge losses to the agricultural economy, is often regulated by epigenetic modification, such as the histone acetyltransferase. In this study, we used Aspergillus flavus as an experimental model to construct the acetyltransferase gene rtt109 knockout strain (△rtt109) and its complementary strain (△rtt109·com) by homologous recombination. The growth of △rtt109 was significantly suppressed compared to the wild type (WT) strain and the △rtt109·com strain. The sclerotium of △rtt109 grew smaller, and the amount of sclerotia generated by △rtt109 was significantly reduced. The number of conidiums of △rtt109 was significantly reduced, especially on the yeast extract sucrose (YES) solid medium. The amount of aflatoxins synthesized by △rtt109 in the PDB liquid medium was significantly decreased We also found that the △rtt109 strain was extremely sensitive to DNA damage stress. Through the maize seed infection experiment, we found that the growth of △rtt109 on the surface of affected corn was largely reduced, and the amount of aerial mycelium decreased significantly, which was consistent with the results on the artificial medium. We further found that H3K9 was the acetylated target of Rtt109 in A. flavus. In conclusion, Rtt109 participated in the growth, conidium formation, sclerotia generation, aflatoxin synthesis, environmental stress response, regulation of infection of A. flavus. The results from this study of rtt109 showed data for acetylation in the regulation of life processes and provided a new thought regarding the prevention and control of A. flavus hazards.

According to the shortcomings of large volume and high cost about the plate recognition system, an embedded plate recognition system is developed based on the ARM11 processor at lower costs. Taking the embedded Linux system as the software development platform, the system uses graphical user interface to operate and control the machine. Using CMOS camera system as image acquisition device, the system adopts HSV algorithm to realize the image classification on the platform of the embedded plate recognition system. The experimental results show that the embedded system runs stably, can realize the plate classification by color, and has the advantages of small size, low power consumption, convenience for using and so on. The embedded system provides a new thought for plate recognition.

New language produces new thought. creativity, critical thinking, educational achievement, empathy towards others, and ability to decipher technology. The gap between looking and seeing can be bridged with observing– the process of building a catalogue of visual elements, a very important argument in front of the so called “narrowness of the education system.” The science of perception and the history of image through the ideas of Eratosthenes, Copernicus, Descartes, Aristotle, Confucius and many others, is to create meaning. Language is, and always will be, the ultimate form of communication. A book of illustrations and not with illustrations, could make complex arguments through that medium that he couldn’t with words alone. Words have been considered for many centuries of the human history, the superior currency of intellect. So, educators don’t know where to start when it comes to teaching visual literacy. Photos without captions can make us look only at the photo, and make judgments and inferences by ourselves. Teaching graphic design alongside poetry, could show that design it’s more than just lines and illustration. It a sophisticated way to grasp the procedure from an idea to a picture. The sooner teachers can really abandon the Learning Styles Theory and not label students as “visual learners”, since we all learn visually, the sooner students will be empowered to become visually literate. Not all serious ideas require words, and many are better off without them. Visual communication deserves its place, and can also serve education.
