This paper describes the application of CAD-aided design technology combined with vb.NET development tools in the design of mechanical parts. To shafting parts design as the example, elaborated AutoCAD development technology in shaft parts of design methods and steps. Used Computer programming software for CAD secondary development to reduce the duplication of work of the designers, improve design accuracy and efficiency.

This paper mainly studies the technology of computer aided design in mechanical design application. In the three-dimensional spring parametrization design as an example, introduced the use of AutoCAD embedded Visual LISP development tools for3D parametric graphic design principles, processes and methods, introduction of computer aided design technology, reduces the design personnel repetitive drawing work, improve the efficiency of design.

Article use Visual LISP development tools and DCL dialog technology, which implements the standard straight teeth, a two-dimensional cylindrical gear parametric drawing on AutoCAD platform, with easy to operate and improve design efficiency. We achieved that using the dialog box design input parameters, and gear parts of the design calculations, parameters proofreading and all kinds of gear design drawing different structures by programming. The output is fully automated computer-aided design system. The results show that the design of the system significantly improves the efficiency of the part design.

3D design technology is the basis for the modern computer graphics. AutoCAD 2015 is a powerful version of computer-aided design system. We can solve complex tasks, without which this instrument can’t be solved in general. Using 3D design technology we not only save time working with a drawing. The geometric models are the foundation of the design basics, for working with drawing we can create projections, footnotes, sections and other modern graphics elements. AutoCAD can use and process the data from the model. This progressive design technology includes all parts of the design, starting from machine details, furniture and finishing with architectural forms of complex object models.
