Camera Calibration Technique Based on HALCON Machine Vision

According to the perspective projection performed by a pinhole camera, taking full account of the lens radial distortion factor, the transformation between the camera coordinate has been analyzed. Combining with camera model instance of surface mount devices, the system uses Halcon machine vision software which has a powerful geometric and image computing functions to solve the camera calibration parameters and the accuracy of calibration results has been verified in practical applications. This method has advantages of computational efficiency and good value of cross-platform porting applications.

Aiming at the applications of computer vision,a nonlinear image geometrical model for array CCD camera was build and the interior parameters and exterior parameters as well were analyzed.By applying Halcon calibration board with circular targets plane of matrix gridding type and functions library,a camera calibration algorithm and accuracy analysis were given.Experiments indicated that the parameters were accurate and this method is simple and it improves the calibration precision and computation speed, and has a good cross-platform portability.

For the research of camera calibration in the system of grid strain measurement in sheet forming, the pinhole camera model, the nonlinear model of the camera and the binocular stereo model are analyzed, drawing a binocular stereo calibration method based on HALCON, which detailedly describes the calibration principle and specific calibration process. A binocular stereo vision calibration system based on VC6.0 is established, by which the influence on camera focus, distortion factor and principle points from the number of calibration images is verified by experiments.
