According to the needs of the intelligent substation construction, this paper applied the optical fiber sensor technology and wireless sensing technology in the substation monitoring, and designed the substation equipment temperature information acquisition system and communication optical cable monitoring system, which connects to the power supply bureau monitoring center networking and provides the decision-making basis for the substation state control and maintenance. It is conducive to improve the level of substation intellectualization and information sharing.

The structure needs to be lifted-off from the ground during the weighing progress. For that the weighing fulcrum and the building fulcrum are different and the building fulcrum is fewer usually and the weighing system has some asynchronism during the lifting process of the structure, it is very important to measure the stress of the key points of the structure during the weighing progress. The paper uses finite element analysis to get the stress sensitive of the weighing device while weighing and uses the optical fiber sensor technology to measure the dynamic stress. Through the experiment with the weighing test bench show that the optical fiber sensor technology has a clear advantage to the traditional resistance strain gauge technique.

Optical fiber sensors have been used widely in offshore oilfield. An optical fiber sensor system including an optical fiber sensor testing temperature and pressure under well, a connector connecting the optical fiber sensor with the optical cable, two connectors connecting cables, 3600 meters armoured optical cable and an interrogator was applied in an offshore oil well on Zhoushan island. The temperature and pressure under well have been measured for about two month and the testing results are presented in this paper.
