Mingo, a six-rowed spring feed barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), is the first barley cultivar developed by the doubled haploid method. It has a high yield, high test weight and good threshability. It took only 5 yr from the time when the parental lines were crossed to the time when Mingo was licenced on 28 March 1979. Breeder seed of Mingo is maintained by CIBA-GEIGY Seeds Ltd., Ailsa Craig, Ontario.

AAC Bloomfield is a six-row spring feed barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) cultivar with high yield, high test weight, high seed weight, and good lodging resistance. It performed well in the Maritime Six-Row Barley Registration and Recommendation Test (2013–2016) before being registered in 2017. AAC Bloomfield was developed by the Ottawa Research and Development Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Ottawa, ON. AAC Bloomfield is recommended for barley growing areas in the Maritime provinces.

Bridge is a two-rowed, hulled, spring feed barley suitable for growing in the western part of the Canadian prairies. It has a combination of high yield potential, high test weight and large kernels. Bridge was developed from a backcross involving TR 521 (Zephyr/Hector) as the cytoplasm donor and recurrent pollen parent, and TR 516 (Betzes/Piroline *2//Zephyr).
