How does participative management influence work motivation? The empirical evidence is mixed. We bridged contradictory findings by proposing previously unexamined mediational mechanisms that link participative management practices to work engagement. The results show that participative management practices have the potential to prompt employees to act in line with the organization's goal and values that, in turn, leads to work engagement. In particular, person-organization (PO) fit, need-supply (NS) fit, and leader-member exchange (LMX) are central to setting the relations among participative management practices, perceived fit, and work engagement. The results suggest that participative management should provide multiple avenues to fulfill human needs, thus strengthening employee engagement at work.

Closeness and compatibility between leaders and subordinates significantly affect the comfort of work, which results in employee performance. Through satisfaction in working, it can create employee engagement, which can contribute to improving employee performance. This study aims to determine the effect of leader-member exchange and personal supervisor fit on employee performance mediated by work engagement on Syariah Bank employees in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The sample in this study amounted to 132 employees using purposive sampling techniques whose data collection uses cross-sectional analysis with the level of analysis of individual samples. This research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to analyze the data. The results showed that the leader-member exchange and person supervisor fit had a positive effect on work engagement, and work engagement had a positive impact on employee performance. Also, this study demonstrates that work engagement is able to mediate the positive influence of leader-member exchange and person supervisor fit on employee performance. For this reason, it can be said that work engagement is an antecedent that shapes employee performance, which is preceded by leader-member exchange and person supervisor fit.

The research aims to analyze the mediating role of employee engagement between job satisfaction and reward as the antecedents, the connection between employee engagement and Leader-Member Exchange, and commitment as the consequences. Meanwhile, this primary study's purpose is to determine whether (and how) employee engagement and antecedents influence Leader-Member Exchange and Organizational Commitment. The population of wooden batik craft centers in Bantul regency is 57 centers and in Gunung Kidul regency is 20 centers. A census did sampling with 292 crafters consisting of 148 crafters in Bantul regency and 144 crafters in Gunung Kidul regency. The data collection technique used in this research was to use a questionnaire. This research uses the AMOS Structural Equation Modelling technique. The results confirm that job satisfaction, reward, employee engagement, Leader-Member Exchange, and Commitment are interrelated. Job satisfaction and reward had a positive relationship with employee engagement. Furthermore, employee engagement mediated the connection between Leader-Member Exchange and Commitment, and Leader-Member Exchange had a positive relationship with commitment
