Abstract The final 3′-terminal residue of the telomeric DNA G-overhang is inherently less precise. Here, we describe how alteration of the last 3′-terminal base affects the mutual recognition between two different G-rich oligomers of human telomeric DNA in the formation of heteromolecular G-quadruplexes (hetero-GQs). Associations between three- and single-repeat fragments of human telomeric DNA, target d(GGGTTAGGGTTAGGG) and probe d(TAGGGT), in Na+ solution yield two coexisting forms of (3 + 1) hybrid hetero-GQs: the kinetically favourable LLP-form (left loop progression) and the thermodynamically controlled RLP-form (right loop progression). However, only the adoption of a single LLP-form has been previously reported between the same probe d(TAGGGT) and a target variant d(GGGTTAGGGTTAGGGT) having one extra 3′-end thymine. Moreover, the flanking base alterations of short G-rich probe variants also significantly affect the loop progressions of hetero-GQs. Although seemingly two pseudo-mirror counter partners, the RLP-form exhibits a preference over the LLP-form to be recognized by a low equivalent of fluorescence dye thioflavin T (ThT). To a greater extent, ThT preferentially binds to RLP hetero-GQ than with the corresponding telomeric DNA duplex context or several other representative unimolecular GQs.

Pengenalan sidik jari merupakan bagian dari teknologi biometrik. Klasifikasi sidik jari yang paling popular adalah Henry classification system. Henry membagi sidik jari berdasarkan garis polanya menjadi lima kelas yaitu arch (A), tented arch (T), left loop (L), right loop (R), dan whorl (W). Penelitian ini menggunakan Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) dengan model arsitektur Residual Network-50 (ResNet-50) untuk mengembangkan sistem klasifikasi sidik jari. Dataset yang digunakan diperoleh dari website National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) berupa citra sidik jari grayscale 8-bit.

AbstractIn this article, we report a rare case of double aortic arch. The case presented initially with a foreign object in the oesophagus. The patient was a 2-year-old boy, who was referred with primary symptoms of tussis (15 days) and emesis (2 days). He had a history of ingesting a coin. Routine chest X-ray indicated a rounded, metal foreign object in the upper oesophagus. A half-Yuan coin was removed by gastroduodenoscopy. Echocardiographic imaging suggested that the patient had double aortic arch, which was subsequently diagnosed by CT angiography with three-dimensional reconstruction. The right subclavian artery arose from the right loop of the double aortic arch. The left subclavian artery as well as left and right common carotid arteries had distinct origins from the left aortic arch. Imaging also indicated atresia of the distal left arch. The patient underwent corrective surgery and made a full recovery. Despite the rarity, double aortic arch should be considered when patients present with a foreign object in the oesophagus. Echocardiography and CT angiography can inform the diagnosis.

Let G be a group and H be a subgroup of G which is either finite or of finite index in G. In this paper, we give some characterizations for the normality of H in G. As a consequence we get a very short and elementary proof of the main theorem of a paper of Lal and Shukla, which avoids the use of the classification of finite simple groups. Further, we study the isotopy between the transversals in some groups and determine the number of isotopy classes of transversals of a subgroup of order 2 in D2p, the dihedral group of order 2p, where p is an odd prime and the isotopism classes are formed with respect to induced right loop structures.

The fingerprints are unique to each individual; they can be used as a means to distinguish one individual from another. Therefore they are used to identify a person. Fingerprint Classification is done to associate a given fingerprint to one of the existing classes, such as left loop, right loop, arch, tented arch and whorl. Classifying fingerprint images is a very complex pattern recognition problem, due to properties of intra-class diversitiesand inter-class similarities. Its objective is to reduce the responsetime and reducing the search space in an automatic identificationsystem fingerprint (AIS), in classifying fingerprints. In these papers we present a system of fingerprint classificationbased on singular characteristics for extracting feature vectorsand neural networks and fuzzy neural networks, SVM and Knearest neighbour for classifying.
