Fungi isolated with „insect bait method" from humus, municipal wastes compost and sewage treatment plant sludge

Larvae of <i>Ephestia kühniella</i> were used as an „insect bait" for ihe isolation of fungi from the investigated materiais. <i>M. anisopliae</i> and <i>P. fumosoroseus</i> were die dominant fungi in humus. <i>B. bassiana</i> and <i>P. fumosoroseus</i> were the dominant fungi in municipal wastes compost. No entomopathogenic fungi were isolated from sewage treatment plant sludge.

Occurrence of entomopathogenic fungi in arable soil

Samples of soil were taken from arable field and from balk. Larvae of <i>Galleria mellonella</i> and <i>Ephestia kühniella</i> were used as an "insect bait" for isolation of entomopathogenic fungi from soil. <i>Metarhizium anisopliae</i> and <i>Paecilomyces fumosoroseus</i> were isolated from both kind of soil. but <i>Beauveria bassiana</i> was present only in soil taken from balk.
