We study the complete, compact, locally affine manifolds equipped with a k-symplectic structure, which are the quotients of Rn(k+1) by a subgroup Γ of the affine group A(n(k+1)) of Rn(k+1) acting freely and properly discontinuously on Rn(k+1) and leaving invariant the k-symplectic structure, then we construct and give some examples and properties of compact, complete, locally affine two-symplectic manifolds of dimension three.

For separated schemes of finite type over a field with an action of an affine group scheme of finite type, we construct the bi-graded equivariant connective K K -theory mapping to the equivariant K K -homology of Guillot and the equivariant algebraic K K -theory of Thomason. It has all the standard basic properties as the homotopy invariance and localization. We also get the equivariant version of the Brown-Gersten-Quillen spectral sequence and study its convergence.

AbstractThe Fourier algebra of the affine group of the real line has a natural identification, as a Banach space, with the space of trace-class operators on $$L^2({{\mathbb {R}}}^\times , dt/ |t|)$$ L 2 ( R × , d t / | t | ) . In this paper we study the “dual convolution product” of trace-class operators that corresponds to pointwise product in the Fourier algebra. Answering a question raised in work of Eymard and Terp, we provide an intrinsic description of this operation which does not rely on the identification with the Fourier algebra, and obtain a similar result for the connected component of this affine group. In both cases we construct explicit derivations on the corresponding Banach algebras, verifying the derivation identity directly without requiring the inverse Fourier transform. We also initiate the study of the analogous Banach algebra structure for trace-class operators on $$L^p({{\mathbb {R}}}^\times , dt/ |t|)$$ L p ( R × , d t / | t | ) for $$p\in (1,2)\cup (2,\infty )$$ p ∈ ( 1 , 2 ) ∪ ( 2 , ∞ ) .

AbstractFor a polygon $$x=(x_j)_{j\in \mathbb {Z}}$$ x = ( x j ) j ∈ Z in $$\mathbb {R}^n$$ R n we consider the midpoints polygon $$(M(x))_j=\left( x_j+x_{j+1}\right) /2.$$ ( M ( x ) ) j = x j + x j + 1 / 2 . We call a polygon a soliton of the midpoints mapping M if its midpoints polygon is the image of the polygon under an invertible affine map. We show that a large class of these polygons lie on an orbit of a one-parameter subgroup of the affine group acting on $$\mathbb {R}^n.$$ R n . These smooth curves are also characterized as solutions of the differential equation $$\dot{c}(t)=Bc (t)+d$$ c ˙ ( t ) = B c ( t ) + d for a matrix B and a vector d. For $$n=2$$ n = 2 these curves are curves of constant generalized-affine curvature $$k_{ga}=k_{ga}(B)$$ k ga = k ga ( B ) depending on B parametrized by generalized-affine arc length unless they are parametrizations of a parabola, an ellipse, or a hyperbola.

<p>In this paper, we compute sub-Riemannian limits of Gaussian curvature for a Euclidean $ C^2 $-smooth surface in the generalized affine group and the generalized BCV spaces away from characteristic points and signed geodesic curvature for Euclidean $ C^2 $-smooth curves on surfaces. We get Gauss-Bonnet theorems in the generalized affine group and the generalized BCV spaces.</p>
