Two new species of the family Galumnidae are described from soil-litter in the riverine forest of Gorongosa National Park (Central Mozambique). Allogalumna mozambiquensis Ermilov sp. n. differs from all species of the genus by the morphology of bothridial seta (with the head having a long setiform tip). Neoctenogalumna gorongosaensis Ermilov sp. n. is similar to N. congoensis in the bothridial seta with developed head, specific notogastral ornamentation and narrowly elongate postanal porose area, but differs from the latter by the smaller body size, heavily ciliate bothridial seta and diagonal position of adanal lyrifissure.

A new oribatid mite genus, Hogsbackia gen. nov. (Oribatida, Punctoribatidae), with type species Hogsbackia africaensis sp. nov., is proposed and described from the indigenous Afromontane forest of South Africa. The new genus is closely related to Scotiazetes, from which it is most easily distinguished by body size ratio, number of notogastral and genital setae, type of humeral porose area Ah, position of dorsophragmata, and leg setation. The redescription of Scotiazetes bidens Wallwork, 1966 is presented, based on material from South Georgia (Antarctic region). The generic diagnosis of Scotiazetes is revised, and the genus is transferred from Ceratozetidae to Punctoribatidae. Relationships between the genera Hogsbackia gen. nov., Scotiazetes and other punctoribatid genera are discussed.

Two new species, Pergalumna clava n. sp. and Pergalumna pilosus n. sp., and a newly recorded species, Pergalumna amamiensis Aoki, 1984 of oribatid mites are described and illustrated from China. Pergalumna clava n. sp. is different from most known species of Pergalumna in the dorsosejugal suture complete; developed four pairs notogastral porose areas, Aa transverse irregular wedge; short interlamellar seta and bothridial seta clavate. Pergalumna pilosus n.sp. different from most known species of Pergalumna in the dorsosejugal suture complete; Aa porose area transverse irregular wedge; longer interlamellar barbed; median pore and postanal porose area present.

Three new species of oribatid mites of the family Galumnidae are described from soil and coniferous litter of Hogsback State Forest, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Pilogalumna hogsbackensis sp. nov. differs from Pilogalumna tenuiclava and P. ornatula by the presence of elongate oval postanal porose area and narrowly unilaterally dilated bothridial head. Pergalumna amatholensis sp. nov. differs from Pergalumna distincta by the presence of smaller body size, rounded rostrum, unilaterally dilated bothridial head, one pair of notogastral porose areas Aa, and the localization of opisthonotal gland opening and lyrifissure im. Stictozetes ihaguensis sp. nov. differs from all species of the genus by presence of bothridial seta with narrowly dilated head and median pore in both genders. An identification key to known species of Stictozetes is presented.

A new species of oribatid mite of the family Galumnidae, Pergalumna sistanbaluchestanica sp. nov., is described and illustrated based on adult specimens from soil in Sistan and Baluchestan province, southeastern Iran. The new species is characterized by dentate rostrum; long interlamellar setae; long, setiform, finely barbed bothridial setae; complete dorsosejugal furrow; large, nearly triangular porose areas Aa; presence of median pore in females and males; large, elongated postanal porose area and large body size. The new species is most similar morphologically to P. seminervosa Mahunka & Mahunka-Papp, 2008, however, differs from it in morphology of bothridial setae and notogastral porose areas Aa and also by the surface ornamentation of the pteromorphs and genital plates; localization of setal alveoli la and lyrifissures im and body size. An identification key to known species of Pergalumna from the Palaearctic region is given.

Results from collections of oribatid mites in the cushion plant belt of Sass Pordoi and Piz Boè in the Italian Dolomites (Prov. Trento) are presented. A total of 10 oribatid species belonging to seven families were found. Most have a wide general distribution, Anachipteria shtanchaevae is restricted to the Alps. Three species are frequently or mainly found in the montane to alpine zone (A. shtanchaevae, Camisia horrida, Oribatula interrupta). Remarkable findings are Camisia foveolata, hitherto only known from the boreal climate zone, which indicates a preglacial relict distribution, and Kunstidamaeus lengersdorfi as highest recorded altitude for this species. Trichoribates valeriae n. sp., found in large numbers on both mountains, is described and compared with other congeners, and its systematic position is discussed. This species is characterized by a lamellar structure with small ridges and widely separated cusps, rounded rostrum with nose-like protuberance, 10 pairs of medium long notogastral setae with short bristles, notogastral porose area A1 divided in two parts, porose areas present on all tibiae and tarsi. Additional morphological information on the presence of porose areas on tarsi of Trichoribates scilierensis Bayartogtokh and Schatz, 2008 is given.

Two new species of the subgenus Galumna (Galumna) (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from leaf litter of evergreen rain forest in eastern Madagascar. Galumna brevilineata sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna (Galumna) anuakensis Ermilov, 2019 and Galumna paracalcicola Ermilov & Anichkin 2014 by the length of interlamellar and lamellar setae, the localization of notogastral lyrifissures im, the ornamentation of anogenital region, the morphology of bothridial setae and postanal porose area, and the absence of median pore. Galumna (Galumna) paraarmatifera sp. nov. differs from its closest species Galumna armatifera Mahunka, 1996 by the morphology of bothridial setae and anal plates, and the length of circumpedal carinae. An identification key to species of Galumna (Galumna) of the calcicola-group (species with short lamellar lines) was presented.

Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Protoribates (Oribatida, Haplozetidae) are described based on adult specimens from China. Protoribates tibetensis sp. nov. differs from all representatives of the genus Protoribates by larger body size, long, thick and barbed notogastral setae and monodactylous legs. Protoribates sichuanensis sp. nov. differs from Protoribates magnus (Aoki, 1982) by smaller body size, ventroanteriorly rounded femora II, shorter ad1 and single porose area A1. Three known species of Protoribates, P. crassisetiger nipponicus Fujita, 1989, P. geonjiensis Choi, 1994, and P. oblongus (Ewing, 1909), are recorded in China for the first time. Two other known species, Protoribates cattienensis Ermilov & Anichkin, 2011 and Protoribates dentatus (Berlese, 1883), are recorded in mainland China for the first time. Supplementary morphological information is given for all the above known species. A key to the Chinese species of the genus Protoribates is given.

A new oribatid mite species of the genus Galumna (Oribatida, Galumnidae) is described from Ethiopia, based on the material collected from litter and fallen leaves on the Sanetti Plateau, Bale Mountains. Galumna (Galumna) paracapensis Ermilov sp. n. differs from Galumna (Galumna) capensis Engelbrecht, 1969 in larger body size, strongly elongate postanal porose area, long longitudinal parts of porose areas Aa and the presence of sculpturing on prodorsum and pteromorphs.

A new species of Pergalumna from soil and litter was reared in laboratory and a description of adult and juveniles is provided. Adults are characterized by having bands of striae in the posterior part of notogaster, the interlamellar seta are longer than all other prodorsal setae and the lenticular area covers most of the prodorsum. It differs from Pergalumna boliviana by having long interlamellar seta, bigger ellipsoidal porose area Aa and the presence of A2; it differs from Pergalumna paraboliviana by the shape of porose areas; i.e. Aa being ellipsoidal and big, A1 is the smallest, Ap is absent and there are longitudinal striate bands on the prodorsum and ventral plate.
