Abstract Allegheny Ludlum Type 430 (UNS S43000) stainless is a corrosion- and heat-resistant chromium steel. Its oxidation resistance is superior to Type 304 in intermittent service, but somewhat lower than Type 304 in continuous service. Type 430 is magnetic in all conditions. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fatigue. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1001. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum.

Abstract AISI Type 405 has marginal stainless corrosion resistance. It is used primarily as a structural material. It is serviceable in continuous service up to 1300 F and in intermittent exposures up to 1500 F. It does not harden appreciably when air cooled from high temperatures where some austenite may exist. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-129. Producer or source: Alloy steel mills and foundries. Originally published March 1962, revised April 1988.

Abstract UPM CP Titanium Grade 3 (UNS R50550) is an unalloyed commercially pure titanium that exhibits moderate strength (higher strength than that of Titanium Grade 2), along with excellent formability and corrosion resistance. It offers the highest ASME allowable design stress of any commercially pure grade of titanium, and can be used in continuous service up to 425 °C (800 °F) and in intermittent service up to 540 °C (1000 °F). This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ti-167. Producer or source: United Performance Metals.

Abstract ALLEGHENY STAINLESS TYPE 434 is a low-carbon ferritic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance to mildly corrosive environments and the atmosphere. It is oxidation resistant at temperatures up to 1600 F for intermittent service and up to 1450-1500 F for continuous service. It is used for automotive trim and other exterior environments. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-292. Producer or source: Allegheny Ludlum Corporation.
