We consider the propagation of light along a 3D nanophotonic structure with the spatial shape of a spacetime containing a traversable wormhole. We show that waves experience significant changes of phase and group velocities when propagating along this curved space. This experiment can be realized with state-of-the-art nanophotonics technology.

AbstractWe study the scattering of low-energy massless and massive minimally coupled scalar fields by an asymptotically flat traversable wormhole. We provide a comprehensive treatment of this problem offering analytic expressions for the transmission and reflection amplitudes of the corresponding effective potential and the absorption cross section of the wormhole. Our results, which are based on a recently developed dynamical formulation of time-independent scattering theory, apply to a large class of wormhole spacetimes including a wormhole with a sharp transition, the Ellis wormhole, and a family of its generalizations.

Three static models with two interacting phantom and ghost scalar fields are considered: a model of a traversable wormhole, a branelike model and a spherically symmetric problem. It is shown numerically that regular solutions exist for all three cases.

In this article, the existence of traversable wormhole in the outer and inner regions of the halos of galaxies using Einasto density profile has been investigated. We use Einasto density model, which is a 3D version of 2D Sérsic model (Dhar and Williams. M. Not. R. Astron. Soc. 405, 340 (2010). doi: 10.1111/j.1365-2966.2010.16446.x ). Two types of rotational velocity curve (one is a fifth degree polynomial and another is a constant) derived from experimental or observed data have been taken into account for describing the space–time of galactic halo comprising a traversable wormhole.

AbstractIt is shown in this paper that it is possible, at least in principle, to construct a traversable wormhole that is stable to linearized radial perturbations by specifying relatively simple conditions on the shape and redshift functions.
