Cloud computing has a most vulnerable security concerns as virtualization. This paper presents a Trace-enable Virtualization protection framework named TVGuarder, which protects IaaS user's important data from being illegally accessed or maliciously damaged by insider attacks. A threat model is established to characterize cloud-oriented insider attacks and countermeasures are proposed in TVGuarder. First, LSM hooks in host OS kernel are leveraged to enforce that VM images could only be accessed by host virtualization service. Second, a trusted loading mechanism is proposed to prevent tampered or disguised virtualization process from being executed in Host OS. Third, a log-based back tracing mechanism is designed to record full call trace of VM operations and guarantee that only legitimate VM operations are allowed. TVGuarder has been implemented in Openstack platform and several comprehensive experiments are conducted. Experimental results show that TVGuarder can identify several important insider attacks and protect virtual machine images with only a small performance degradation.

Fog computing is a term coined by networking giant Cisco. It is a new paradigm that extends the cloud computing model by conferring computation, storage, and application services at the periphery of networks. Fog computing is a gifted paradigm of cloud computing that facilitates the mobility, portability, heterogeneity, and processing of voluminous data. These distinct features of fog help to reduce latency and make it suitable for location-sensitive applications. Fog computing features raise new security concerns and challenges. The existing cloud security has not been implemented directly due to mobility, heterogeneity of fog nodes. As we know, IoT has to process large amount of data quickly; therefore, it has various functionality-driven applications that escalate security concerns. The primary aim of this chapter is to present the most recent security aspects such as authentication and trust, reputation-based trust model, rogue fog node and authentication at different level, security threats, challenges, and also highlights the future aspects of fog.

Today's people are moving towards the internet services through cloud computing to acquire their required service, but they have less confidence about cloud computing because all the tasks are handled by the service provider. Cloud system provides features to the owner to store their data on some remote locations and allow only authorized users to access their data according to their access capability. Data security becomes particularly serious in the cloud computing environment because data are scattered in different machines and storage devices including servers, PCs, and various mobile devices such as smart phones. To make the cloud computing be adopted by enterprise, the security concerns of users should be rectified first to make cloud environment trustworthy. The trustworthy environment is the basic prerequisite to win the confidence of users to adopt this technology. However, there are various security concerns that need to be taken care of regarding the trust maintenance between various parties, authorized access of confidential data, data storage privacy, and integrity.

Cloud Computing (CC) is revolutionizing the methodology by which IT services are being utilized. It is being introduced and marketed with many attractive promises that are enticing to many companies and managers, such as reduced capital costs and relief from managing complex information technology infrastructure. However, along with desirable benefits come risks and security concerns that must be considered and addressed correctly. Thus, security issues must be considered as a major issue when considering Cloud Computing. This paper discusses Cloud Computing and its related concepts; highlights and categorizes many of the security issues introduced by the “cloud”; surveys the risks, threats, and vulnerabilities; and makes the necessary recommendations that can help promote the benefits and mitigate the risks associated with Cloud Computing.

Mobile cloud computing can improve user experiences by executing applications or resource providers and exchange data on mobile devices. Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is a revolutionary application in the mobile computing world. This paper presents the concept of mobile computing besides recommending a new term called M-cloud that is yet to be further explored. The various modules of this paper consist of MCC applications, major concerns and security concerns with related preventive measures.
