In the article, the results of approbation of the developed technique of the refined numerical simula-tion of the dynamic stress-strain state of the three-dimensional system “ground base (earth foundation) – reser-voir – construction of the pressure head of the hydraulic system” under seismic influences. A comparison is made between two different ways of modeling the fluid interacting with the structure and the base of the hydroe-lectric power station. The issues of choosing the dimensions of the base unit and taking into account the inertial load from it, as well as the method of determining the initial seismic action, are touched upon.
