The current construction climate in the UK is moving forward with a much greater attention on cost certainty, sustainability and adoption of innovative technologies. The UK Construction Strategy 2025 provides a clear direction towards achieving such goals by 2025. Life Cycle Costing (LCC) is one of successful techniques for identifying the total cost of ownership in construction assets. Even though the technique has 50 years of history, the application and the diffusion of the technique within the construction domain is comparatively limited. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the evolution and current status of LCC within construction context through Bibliometric Analysis of journal publications indexed in Web of Science database (1970-2020). A series of Contents Analyses was performed and visualisation maps were generated via VOSviewer. The findings proved that LCC has been absorbed into construction in late 90’s and there is a continuous rise in the global uptake from 2013 onwards. With limited budgets and growing demand for sustainability, an integrated methodology linking LCC, Life Cycle Assessment and Performance optimisation is apparently the way forward for LCC.

Companies are increasingly interested in reducing their environmental footprint. Thereby, they face the challenge of identifying and mitigating their specific impacts and hotspots and simultaneously avoid burden shifting. The organizational life cycle assessment (OLCA) method was conceived and successfully tested for the assessment if companies’ potential environmental impacts. Still, the method poses methodological challenges for the application to service providing organizations. In this paper, OLCA was applied to a service providing SME in the photovoltaic and wind energy business in the United Kingdom. The environmental impact profile of the reporting organization is dominated by transport activities, including the technicians’ trips to the solar farms, employee commuting, and business travels. According to the main goals of the study (gaining insights in internal operations and improving organizational procedures), recommendations to reduce travel-related impacts are provided. For existing methodological challenges like selecting the reporting flow and setting the system boundaries, innovative solutions like defining multiple reporting flows for different activities and to partly include service receiving objects in system boundaries are discussed with the aim to facilitate future applications.

Indian society attaches a lot of importance to marriage. Marriage is regarded as one of the most significant life cycle rituals. In traditional Hindu society marriage is considered a sacrament and therefore expected to be for life. It is the most formally recognized institution under which the progeny is accepted. In India marriage is an important institution since it is advised by “dharma” and also gives you a sense of attachment and belonging towards each other. However, marriage seems to be an unattainable goal to many persons with disabilities. The persons with all kinds of physical disabilities have a hard time finding partner for the marriage because many people in the society cannot look beyond the appearance of a disability. Persons with disabilities have abridged marriage prospects, less choice of a partner, higher dowries and greater risk of desertion. There is a paucity of research studies, especially in Indian context to understand the need for marriage and marital concerns of persons with physical disabilities. This empirical research highlights the need and importance of marriage for the persons with physical disabilities. It also suggests the suitable social work intervention model for marriage needs of persons with physical disabilities keeping their specific needs and requirements in mind.

The purpose of the study is to develop the theoretical and methodological provisions, as well as the practical recommendations for the management of the innovative development of the industrial enterprises of a vertically integrated structure, which is considered as one of the mechanisms to improve its competitiveness. The article analyzes the technology of the innovative development of the economic systems, examines the current trends and identified the problems of the management of their innovative development, studies the technology of the management parameters of the life cycle of the products in the industrial enterprises and forms the criteria for the effectiveness of the innovative development management. The result of the study is the development of a structural and parametric model of the innovative enterprise management and the creation of a mechanism to improve the efficiency of its activities.
