First record of the Gloiopotes huttoni (Thomson, 1890) (Copepoda: Caligidae) parasitic on the swordfish Xiphias gladius along the southeast coast of India
Cantharus tranquebaricus (Gmelin, 1791) is reported for the first time in Pondicherry mangroves, southeast coast of India. Three adult specimens have been found in the Thengaithittu lagoon during post monsoon season of 2009. It is a characteristic species of molluscan fauna of the Bay of Bengal and the descriptions of the shell are provided.
In the present study stenopodidean shrimp, Microprosthema validum is first time reported from the West coast of India. This species is widely distributed along the Indo-Pacific region and previously reported from the Southeast coast of India. The details of morphological characters of the species are presented in the report.
