AbstractIn this article, we give necessary and sufficient conditions on a function to be a low-pass filter on a local field K of positive characteristic associated with the scaling function for multiresolution analysis of L2(K). We use probability and martingale methods to provide such a characterization.

The main objective of this paper is to provide complete characterization of multigenerator Gabor frames on a periodic set $\Omega$ in $K$. In particular, we provide some necessary and sufficient conditions for the multigenerator Gabor system to be a frame for $L^2(\Omega)$. Furthermore, we establish the complete characterizations of multigenerator Parseval Gabor frames.

We extend and apply the Galois theory of linear differential equations equipped with the action of an endomorphism. The Galois groups in this Galois theory are difference algebraic groups, and we use structure theorems for these groups to characterize the possible difference algebraic relations among solutions of linear differential equations. This yields tools to show that certain special functions are difference transcendent. One of our main results is a characterization of discrete integrability of linear differential equations with almost simple usual Galois group, based on a structure theorem for the Zariski dense difference algebraic subgroups of almost simple algebraic groups, which is a schematic version, in characteristic zero, of a result due to Z. Chatzidakis, E. Hrushovski, and Y. Peterzil.

Wavelet frames have gained considerable popularity during the past decade, primarily due to their substantiated applications in diverse and widespread fields of engineering and science. In this article, we obtain the characterization of nonhomogeneous wavelet frames and nonhomogeneous dual wavelet frames in a Sobolev spaces on a local field of positive characteristic by means of a pair of equations.

In real life application all signals are not obtained from uniform shifts; so there is a natural question regarding analysis and decompositions of these types of signals by a stable mathematical tool.  This gap was filled by Gabardo and Nashed [11]   by establishing a constructive algorithm based on the theory of spectral pairs for constructing non-uniform wavelet basis in \(L^2(\mathbb R)\). In this setting, the associated translation set \(\Lambda =\left\{ 0,r/N\right\}+2\,\mathbb Z\) is no longer a discrete subgroup of \(\mathbb R\) but a spectrum associated with a certain one-dimensional spectral pair and the associated dilation is an even positive integer related to the given spectral pair. In this paper, we characterize the scaling function for non-uniform multiresolution analysis on local fields of positive characteristic (LFPC). Some properties of wavelet scaling function associated with non-uniform multiresolution analysis (NUMRA) on LFPC are also established.
