This research introduces a new systematic approach to identify the optimal design configuration and attributes to minimize the potential construction project changes. The second part of this paper focuses on the attribute design aspect. In this research, the potential changes of design attribute values are modeled by probability distribution functions. Attribute values of the design whose construction tasks are least sensitive to the changes of these attribute values are identified based upon Taguchi Method. In addition, estimation of the potential project change cost due to the potential design attribute value changes is also discussed. Case studies in pipeline engineering design and construction have been conducted to show the effectiveness of the introduced approach.

User experience (UX) design involves combination of different design attributes with their corresponding attribute levels to form different product profiles. This raises the issue of how to integrate corresponding UX of individual design attribute levels (i.e., partworth UX measures) into a holistic measure of UX of the entire product profile. Traditional methods often use a weighted sum of single partworth UX strategy without considering their dependence. This paper proposes to use utility copulas to accommodate the dependence of individual partworth UX measures. Single utility functions are constructed based on cumulative prospect theory, based on which multivariate Archimedean utility copulas are constructed using a nested structure based on the modularized attributes. A case study of aircraft cabin interior design is demonstrated to show the potential and feasibility of the proposed methodology.

Digital Image Forensic is significantly becoming popular owing to the increasing usage of the images as a media of information propagation. However, owing to the presence of various image editing tools and softwares, there is also an increasing threats over image content security. Reviewing the existing approaches of identify the traces or artifacts states that there is a large scope of optimization to be implmentation to further enhance teh processing. Therfore, this paper presents a novel framework that performs cost effective optmization of digital forensic tehnqiue with an idea of accurately localizing teh area of tampering as well as offers a capability to mitigate the attacks of various form. The study outcome shows that propsoed system offers better outcome in contrast to existing system to a significant scale to prove that minor novelty in design attribute could induce better improvement with respect to accuracy as well as resilience toward all potential image threats.

There is a need in engineering education toimprove the connection between design and engineeringscience. Students should be provided more opportunitiesto practice applying both science and design to a singleproblem in order to be better prepared for challengesthey will face when they enter the workforce. For thisreason, an instructor of a first year engineering sciencecourse was motivated to improve its connection to theCanadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB)Attributes, specifically the Design attribute. The goal wasto revise the course such that the students would berequired to integrate quantitative methods that weretaught during the term through the means of design. Itwas decided that an effective pedagogical tool that couldaccomplish this was a case study, since it would providecomplexity and context using a real-world issue thatrelated to several course concepts. The methodology forcase development, implementation strategy, future steps, lessons learned, as well as the instructor’s observationswill be discussed.
