Abstract MELTRON ZW6 is a heat treatable wrought magnesium alloy containing zinc and zirconium. It is recommended for extrusions where high strength and good toughness are required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive, shear, and bearing strength as well as fracture toughness and fatigue. It shows improved hot formability; it is free from stress-corrosion cracking in service and is readily weldable by the argonarc and heliarc machine processes and by the manual method for simple joints. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as fatigue.
