Two chromium modified copper-nickel alloys have been developed which provide exceptional levels of impingement corrosion resistance in flowing seawater systems. The new alloys retain all the unique characteristics which make the copper-nickel alloys particularly attractive for condenser tube applications. In addition, they provide improved performance capabilities at normal condenser tube flow velocities and significantly increase the upper velocity limit at which copper-nickel alloys can be used effectively.

Abstract The Hiduron series of alloys are medium-strength copper-nickel alloys that offer excellent corrosion resistance and good impingement erosion resistance. Hiduron 107 is a medium-strength corrosion-resistant copper-nickel alloy that is often used in seawater applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, machining, and joining. Filing Code: CU-744. Producer or source: Langley Alloys.

The paper reported the results of a study concerned with the principle of operation of the 3D printing technology using the method of selective sintering of metallic powders, and taking into account their advantages and drawbacks. The principle of the operation of 3D printing technology applying the DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) method is presented. On the basis of the performed tests, the anisotropy of the printed materials is demonstrated. The reasons responsible for this phenomenon are identified. The paper presents the results of the strength tests which indicate that the crack during the test occur in the building direction of the layers during printing. The results were compiled for two different types of specimens and two different testing machines.

Abstract ANACONDA Alloy 706 (also known as Cupro Nickel, 10% 706) is a wrought 90% copper-10% nickel alloy developed to provide a material less costly than the copper-nickel alloys containing 20 or 30% nickel, but yet offering much of their excellent reliability. This was achieved by adding 1.25% iron to Alloy 706 to increase its resistance to corrosion by salt water. Alloy 706 is recommended where good mechanical properties, weldability and corrosion resistance are needed. It is widely used for plates, tubing and piping that must resist seawater. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-391. Producer or source: Anaconda American Brass Company.
